Could We Have An Option To Turn Off Autofill?

I don't know what anyone else thinks but in my opinion the autofill system is cancer. My reasoning is because it can lose a game or penalize someone for dodging because they cant play said role well and or want to carry via going mid/top/or jg or something like that. It can lose a game for someone because it has the people that just instantly will feed if they get autofilled or they just get so tilted that they do bad. I just wanted to see if we could start something to have an option to turn autofill off in expense of wait times. Please.

"Turning off" autofill is literally the same thing as removing it, because there would be no difference between choosing autofill and queuing for fill.

Autofill should not exist in rank. I'd guarantee +90% of the player base would much rather have the role they want in solo que then get a slightly faster pop for a role they do not play.

If it shouldn't exist in ranked, it 100% shouldn't exist in normals. I don't understand why normals EVER had autofill implemented.

They should just remove it. The game didn't have it in the past when there were less players and longer queue times and only a very small population had queue time complaints. Now the game is more popular and it has been implemented? It makes no sense. If they were going to implement it there should have been efforts to restrict how often it is enabled. Right now it is enabled pretty much 90% of the time. Waiting 3 minutes for a game and waiting 5 minutes for a game is not much of a difference to warrant a lesser game experience. Waiting 2 extra minutes and not getting forced into a role I don't want? Worth. In normals my queue times are 7-10 minutes even with it on, at that point it doesn't matter if it is saving even 5 minutes, if I am waiting that long to play a game I want to be able to play one of the roles I selected.

Also, before we were able to just pick our roles before going in there was Team Builder, which guaranteed us our roles and champion. Before team builder there was pick order and you'd be surprised how easy it was to just talk to your team mates in champ select back then to negotiate roles. Before team builder when it was just pick order I was still able to get my role around 95% of the time, which is a lot higher than what it is now where I was forced to implement a rule of that if I get autofilled I just dodge and then wait out ranked until the timer resets so I only lose -3 LP if I get autofilled again.

I remember when team builder was Implemented and in that I have had so much more fun in games because you could make a team without having to gather friends and tell them a team comp

Yea, I totally agree, team builder was the best. I was able to grind my MMR to D1 in it because I was able to hand pick my team mates (I always chose to be a captain). I would kick anyone that was below a certain rank and I'd only accept champions that I felt fit into what the team needed. Sometimes it would take 15 minutes to get into the game but no one in the lobby cared and the match quality was excellent.

Ya I was able to have so much fun with Team Builder and I met some of my best friends via that mode and I have no idea why the fuck they took it out.

Probably because they judged the quality of the queue based on how long it took between hitting Play and actually being in the game. On paper it probably looked terrible because it could easily be 10-20 minutes for a game to start, but the people that were playing that queue knew what they were going into when playing in it and accepted it as reasonable since the match quality was a lot higher.

Also I can see some lower elo players complaining about it because of being kicked. Since I was willing to hold off until I felt like I had a strong team comp it was common for my lobby's timer to be past 15 minutes. This means the MMR stretched out enough to where it would occasionally pick up a silver or gold player and I would kick them regardless of their champion because I wanted my team to all be about the same rank which usually meant the enemy team was all around the same rank.

I would love it if they implemented it but it will never happen because they see the current system as equivalent to team builder. What would have been nicer, but probably a bit harder to implement in high elo, would have been a Composition builder where you choose your role and champion like in team builder and then for each role you either chose what types of champions you want to be matched with or maybe even choose the champions themselves. Choosing champions themselves would probably create really terrible queue times but I think choosing types of champions would be sufficient. I prefer a tanky top laner with CC and cringe when I get matched with something that is squishy with no CC.
