Urgot counters
honestly who counters urgot top? i don't understand the champion outside of playing him (i main him top but i win almost all games i play with him). i don't understand how to beat him in laning if the enemy laner gets him i lose 100%

As someone who's a Mastery 6 Urgot (holy fuk, 3900 essence for a mastery 7...), here are his weak points imo:

seriously immobile (E can be interrupted by standing near him). A careless Urgot with no vision around him is easily gankable or waste his Flash.

Engage after using his W, since that's his main source of strength.

Dodge his Q or E, and then try to engage on him while being near your own minions. His W will most likely awkwardly focuses the minion instead of you.

Best picks against him would be:
: Easily outranges Urgot, assuming you can juke his Q often. Teemo's Q can negate Urgot's W.
: Always attack from range & shoot some Qs between Urgot for pokes & minion for gold. Try to utilize barrels from a distance to deal damage.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you're below 25% hp and Urgot manages to land his ult on you, as you're getting pulled in, use W to cleanse off the pull.
: Quite situational & needs proper timing on knowing when to jump on him. Start using Jax's E when Urgot started using his W to negate the damage while decreasing the shotgun passive's damage as well.
: Just about the same as Jax. Use your W the moment Urgot uses W, and utilize the shield passive to negate some damage when attempting to all in using EQ.
Ever since urgot buffs he just seems pretty unbearable to lane against
I don't have a lot of experience against Urgot, but the very few times I've laned against him top, I did okay with Gangplank and with Teemo. In both cases though, it was a case of hanging back and poking him out little by little. I didn't dominate lane in either case, but I didn't feed him either. It was a while ago so I don't remember the numbers. I think I went 2/2 in lane with plank and 2/1 with Teemo?
It's mostly about restraining yourself with Urgot. Trading with him is dumb. You need an ability or autoattack with superior range so that you can constantly harass him while keeping out of his range. And you can't linger at low health. Drop below 40% health? Call your jungler for help, push the lane hard, back, and come back with full health so he can't ult-execute you.
