Which Champion should I use for top lane?

So I'm going through each role at Summoners Rift so far I've done bottom ADC(Varus), Jungle(Kha'Zix), Mid(Talon). I just got Talon so I'm still testing him out. I'm planning to go through each lane before I make replacements where needed. At the moment I'm doing top lane and it initially started with only Aatrox. I've played some before with Cho'Gath and I really don't like his early game(mana problems) and if you die you have to get your stacks all over again. I then began to discover new champions such as Irelia, Shyvanna, Skarner, and ofcourse Aatrox. I know Irelia is the strongest one followed by Aatrox, Shy, and Skarner.

If someone wants to suggest a top laner champ make sure they are:

Rare(not played often).
Good to alright late game

She is more mid game, actually. She is good all around, and can deal with ranged cancer toplane.

lissandra or irelia are the to go safe / best picks overall.

My favourite top laners are Nasus, Trundle, and Swain. They are all pretty durable, have utility even if behind, and have innate sustain. They are all capable of surviving the early game against most matchups and scale very well into the late game.

Usually Darius or Shyvana against tanky top laners and Fiora for those melee carriers..

i just won a game against Garen using Shyvana, main point is to have short trades cuz his passive is really annoying but if you can stop that passive then you're doing good and just farm. he has his q but you have w which outruns him and once you've got 2-3 tank items and 1 dmg items, it's easy to help your team mates and tele back to top lane to stop him, my turret never fall while i took all his turrets lol
