Placements Explained

Based on all the issues lately, let me explain placements.

Last season you were X, this season after placements, no matter how you do because they don't matter really, you'll more or less be X +/- Y, where Y is at a few sections.

For example, you were Silver II last season, went 10-0 in ranked, you'll be at best Gold I and at worst Silver IV.

Another example, you were Silver II last season, went 0-10 in ranked, you'll be at best Silver II, at worst Silver IV.

Remember, in the end, all that matters is MMR. Riot only does a soft reset.

I'm pretty sure everyone understands this by now. It's the fact that many players have been dropped complete tiers when winning over 50% of their placements.

Cause winning placements only change your MMR a bit. What matters is your MMR when last season ended. Placements can change it only slightly. If you had MMR of gold 3 player, and u play 10 games, your MMR can change a bit higher towards gold 2 or lower towards gold 4. It doesnt matter if u ended last season as plat V as long as your MMR was on gold 3 level.

not me i was bronze 1 and i work my ass of with all the trolllers bronze that can play i do uderstand the frustration . i also make a post myslef i win 8-2 and i end up bronze 5 again seems pretty fuk up up to me i carry all my team for my 9 games . even so i just tougth riot should fix this becasue serisouyl they make us lose time with those bronze kids i was also platinum. and and up bronze 1

if yoy guys can no what it is ?

i would like to talk to the manager my self. i know im not the only one , but i just really dont understand those rank system ? like an example cs go have such a great rank system seriously it should be the same . i just do think they will lose alot of player for that new updated

I was Silver II season 4, did my placements, 7/3 and got Bronze V - played up and before the weekend was out I was Silver V. This early in the season if you don't win out, you'll get dropped - that's just the way the algorithm works. It enables lower ranked players the opportunity to play with those with a bit more skill and increases their likelyhood to escape Bronze if they are skilled enough to do so. Same threads every single year... has always been that way.
