Ranked "placment" Games

Why? I pose that question because its frustrating and made me leave league of legends for an entire season and then some. I played other games like Mechwarrior Online and Overwatch.

I just played my "placement games" and its just frustrating that i have to play 10 games to get bronze 5. Okay i was expecting it but not because im bad, its because the system Riot has in place is just counter productive. Before you freak out and start flaming think about it....they (riot) put it in place so we as players feel like we're acomplishing something by climbing. Well i climbed out of bronze to silver 4 and at the end of the season was proud of that. Then next season i win 7/10 and get placed bronze 4? BRONZE FUCKING FOUR?! It turned me off and eventually i quit league. Now i mention this because when i do come back to play league and im less salty and am actually having fun i had to play 10 goddamn games to get placed bronze 5 because i never climbed out of bronze 4. Why make me play 10 games (of which i win 6) and still get placed bronze 5. Why make me play games over 2-3 days just to dump me in the worst ELO we have. Now i'll climb out of it dont get me wrong, eventually. Bronzies dont geometry gooder.

THe point of this is not my frustration. The point is, with all the goddamn changes to ranked why do we still play "placement games" and try to do well when we should just AFK them and surrender them so we can get placed so we can climb. Its like Preseason in the NFL no matter what, they dont count. They're dry runs to help out teamwork on the grand stage....NO MATTER WHAT WE PLAY WE'RE STILL GETTING PUT IN A HOLE RIOT DIECIDES WE SHOULD BE PUT IN.

I wasted roughly 8 hours playing this game playing ranked for no reason. Because i skipped a season i have to start at the absolute bottom and its frustrating. Its counter productive and annoying. I hate it and i want riot to think about changing the waste of time they call placement games. Its not cute or funny its stupid.

I dont think you understand. Being put at bronze 5 is a blessing. Once you get to silver 5 you get all the unranked players who have never played ranked before feeding their asses off and causing people who have actually climbed to silver to lose games.

So you know how, at the start of every season of professional baseball all the teams records from the previous season get wiped clean? And next year, even though they won the World Series, the Cubs have to start at 0-0 like all the others?

And this is the entire basis for having competitive professional sporting seasons?

Placements may be silly, but it's essentially the same. If YOU never get reset and never have to play through then again then neither does any one else and the guy at the very top of the ladder gets to stay there, and no one else gets to show improvement or decline in skills.

Quite simply, you are reset and have to play placements again because that is Riot's method of returning all accounts to a 0 wins 0 losses status, everyone back to the starting line.
