Assasins dont have a place in this meta

I love playing Talon. His ability to get in, remove a high priority target then possibly escape or just provide good aoe damage if your posistioning and timing were right is just fun. But assasins can not compete with todays bruisers. The brusiers of today get so much damage, im not saying they can first as fast as talon, they cant, but they def HAVE burst enough to remove a squishy. But they also have the health and sustained damage to continue being a threat and force in team fights. Laye game the gap is huge. A darius, garen or jax will contribute sooooooooooo much more to their team than any assassin can. So I ask, why pick an assassin in this meta? Because I want to. I just cant justify it right now
