Why can't you get hextech key fragments? You play and play but never seem to find any. I played for at least 2 months now without getting any key fragments. What's the cause to this? In those 2 months, I played the same champion again and again. Or sometimes other champions. Not a single fragment. Well, I'll tell you what is happening.

It's not dropping by random. I'm serious. Have you ever played a free week champion that you never played before? At the end of the battle, it says you must own the champion to get chests or key fragments. Yeah, that's the proof I have. Because you get keys fragments when you play champs you own and never played before. So just buy Warwick or something like that and play him. So if you want Hextech Keys or Hextech Chests, go out there, buy a cheap champion and play it. Tah dah!! Key fragment for you!

If this doesn't work then I don't know.

lol i STILL havent been able to get anything. still getting that bs "unable to earn rewards due to previous behavior restrictions." message after every game. and this hextech stuff started how long? i say be happy your getting anything at all lol some of us arnt.

They're on a timer that resets monthly, I think. Since you tend to earn keys all at once at first, earning new keys lowers the drop chance of future keys. That chance won't reset until that month is over, then you suddenly start seeing them dropping REALLY FAST again.

For the last month i get only 2 key fragments and 1 chest.Had like 30+ S ranks.And no i dont played f2p champs ,cause i play only rankeds.So yea ,i dunno...

You may be right... another piece of evidence: key fragments drop way faster for ARAM games, where you're often driven to play a different champion each match.
