Draft needs an 'optional bans' system as the roster gets even larger.

Instead of a fourth or even fifth ban per team, draft needs something like optional bans:

After the regular three bans per team, there is then an optional ban phase. The team who was second to ban gets an optional pick after their third ban. They can either ban a fourth champion, or defer.

If they take another ban, the other team can now take a ban as well, or veto the ban and the ban phase is over with just the original six bans.

If the first team deferred, the second team then has the option to ban a fourth champion, or also defer and end the ban phase.

This can happen for a fifth or even sixth pair of bans, for up to three more bans per team, unless both defer or one vetoes a ban.

Turn the bans into a bit of a poker game really. Bans can then adapt to break stale comps or leave the options open.

Even with 6 bans per team (the max), the only "new things" that would happen in pro play, is if they banned out literally EVERY jungle champion, or EVERY champion the top laners play etc... If that does not occur, we'll still be watching the same champions in the same lanes/roles in every LCS game as it pertains to the current meta (current meta for when the game is being played, not the CURRENT... current meta).

I feel like, in high level play, it'd be encouraging a bit of playing chicken with banning everyone's mains.

I think I didn't quite get across: The veto option cancels the first ban of a pair. This is what sets these optional bans apart. If your jungler's #1 pick survives the first three pairs and comes up on the fourth, it can be vetoed at cost of other bans.

I just feel like a guaranteed number of bans means you go into it with them practically picked already.
