Add an Alert for whenever someone on your team is about to ban your pick.

Extremely tired of my pick getting banned and then the person who banned making some excuse like "didn't see" blah blah blah. One point of the new champ select was to fix teammates banning other teammates picks. You can't stop them from banning but you can alert them to whenever they are banning a teammate's pick. This also separates the real trolls from the people actually playing the game. They have no bullshit excuse if an alert is implemented.

Edit: To address the concerns in comments below The notification can work like the first afk check to get into champ select (it's timed). There is actually a buffer time when it the timer hits zero to quickly make ban (or just my lag) so you can make another ban or just ban that champ. Obviously, there are no penalties to banning a teammate's pick except banning his/her pick.

The notification can pop up saying something close to the following: You are about to ban a teammate's pick

Option 1: Continue (bans that champ) Option 2: Cancel (does not ban)

Would be fair to stop the timer.

As for banning a champion they don't want to go against. A. if teammate is first pick they won't go against that champ B. A trade can be worked C. Hope for the best

I understand people banning my pick if I'm last pick. What irks me is getting my pick banned as first, second, third pick.

If rito implements the new alert system, it will help with the panic and accidental bans. The notification won't force you to not ban that champ. It serves its simple duty of alerting that player.

But how exactly would it work? Like does a sound play, does a notification pops up telling you, you are banning someones pick? If so how does this work with the timer? I mean there are reasons why people might ban someones pick other than being a troll or "not seeing it". this just seems like it will over complicate things and possibly punish players who dont understand this and just want to ban a champ they dont want to go against!

Didn't think of anything else besides a notification popping saying something close to the following: You are about to ban a teammate's pick

The thing is even second/third pick is pushing it especially if this is Rank. People dont want to take chances that not only the enemy team NOT getting that champion, but that you play very well. Most of the time you are playing with different people, people you dont know and they dont know you. They possibly played with another person who played the champion you want to and played horribly, or played with an enemy team who had that champion and dont want to deal with it.

Back on topic, If the timer stop, how exactly does that work when you dont ban the champion? if its on the last second and the timer stops then it would be impossible to get the right ban after that. Now if you see the notification well before the timer expire and its on "stop" this just basically leaves an infinite amount of time to discuss the game and to some might be considered cheating.

Second, Third pick is not pushing it IMO. I'm talking about second, third pick where the enemy gets first pick (e.g. enemy picks zed first, then second and third pick on your team picks j4 and ahri, respectively)

It's not like you cannot search a person up in champ select. Sometimes you have to believe.

I mean i guess it depends on the person. In my opinion its pushing it, because first pick can be critical, even second and third pick could just not care, not trade you, and much rather get their picks before yours. it all depends on the player. with that said it could work in theory, but you have to remember this is the League of Legends Community. Some of us arent the brightest, and i just see this as more incentive to troll, or even cheat. You dont list how long this "stop" is, and this would just help players who play via Team Speak programs. Some cant take this type of advantage thus giving them a disadvantage when people could potentially abuse.

I do like this idea, but i just see more harm than good. It does need some type restriction as to not be abused. But it also needs to correlate with how champ select/banning phase works at the moment.

I completely agree, Plus this wouldnt be hard for rito to do anyways. I hope this gets done when the new pings get out
