Tips on Promos?

Recently got through my placements of Bronze 1 and my wins are giving way over average (26+ because of my high MMR, should be in Silver basically) so it's gotten to that point where I've been wondering about Promos. People say that when you get to promos you get terrible match ups with afkers and such. I really wanted to get placed in Silver, but it didn't happen so I'm kind of worried about this. Any tips for a support/jg main?

There nothing particularly special about promos in terms of matchmaking (and indeed, ranks in general are pretty meaningless).

You're matchmade based on your mmr, which goes up when you win and down when you lose, and so in theory every time you win a game, your next game will be ever so slightly harder, and every time you lose one it'll be ever so slightly easier. Since getting into promos implied you just won a match, things are technically harder, but only very slightly. If you've been winning games on your own volition (as opposed to basically feeding but having someone manage to carry the game for you), then just keep doing what you're doing, and promos will probably be a similar experience.

Just have faith that if you belong in silver, you'll get there eventually. Even if you have a string of bad luck in promos, promo helper exists, so next time you reach promos (which shouldn't be that long if you're a silver [or higher!] player) you'll start with a free win, and if you have bad luck again you can even eventually start with 2 free wins. Just a matter of not tilting and keeping at it, and always focusing on yourself and the things you can improve/control rather than fretting over teams which you have no control over.

Duo queue with me. Sitting in promos to bronze 2 right now. A little while ago, I climbed from bronze 2 (where I started this season) straight to silver promos without a single loss. Then, I started alternating wins and losses until I was 2/2 in promos, and I get someone who gets extremely toxic and then starts intentionally feeding because he doesn't think we can win and the rest of us think we can. I'm an ADC/jungle main. Twitch being my main ADC, and when I jungle I usually play tanks with damage (Sion and Skarner being my biggest 2. Would also play Zac a lot if I owned him).

I was also getting 25-30 LP per win before I went on my little losing streak, where after failing my promos wins became few and far between until, well, today actually. Now I'm getting 21 LP per win. Practicing my mechanics, and I see people who are playing in plat who don't use the mechanics I'm working on at all, and I have a lot of game knowledge and have made several comebacks just because my team listened to my plays, including one earlier tonight that was a 4v5 from level 6 (our Fiora dced). I made a post talking about it, and how if people just don't give up, no game is unwinnable. However, it's probably lost by now due to mass downvoting from the bronze players who do fall into the low ELO mentality. Every single comment is agreeing with me, though.

Well don't get tilted. If first blood occurs, stay cool. Gank a crap ton. What I've noticed is in lower elo, jungler's are in their own little world. If you gank a lot and provide a lot of pressure, your lanes will surely feel confident and get leads. Look for the lane with the biggest snowball potential and help em get rolling. As a support, I would always ask my ADC beforehand whether they are a passive or aggressive player. Play to the liking of the ADC but on major moments, use what you consider is better judgment. Don't worry about who has the better composition or early/late game. Just play with enthusiasm and you'll do fine. Happy players = better performance!

promos are a grind fest, within a grind fest
