Thoughts on the future Warwick update

Recently I have seen topics come up about the future Warwick update and wanted to share what I would like to see, what could be improved, and what I personally enjoy about Warwick.

I have played Warwick every season and have experienced most on his phases he has gone through since late season 2. I have had the most fun when he has been a jungle pick not relying on Ap. While AP lanewick was fun in a way the war of attrition got dull quickly and isn't something I would miss if it were gone.

I will start out with his skills and how I feel they could be implemented in a new kit going forward.

His passive. Right now it is an integral part of what makes him feel good to play. The health gain could almost go to another area of the kit in order to make way for a more dynamic passive.

Q. This ability has a lot of potential to be expanded upon. It's super linear right now and while I like the spirit of the ability I think the same feel of the skill could be changed from point and click damage/heal when in range to an ability that could accomplish the same goal with some response available to the enemy (hopefully allowing for greater effect when successful.)

W and E. I am going group these together as I think there is potential for these to be combined. With the bloodscent I find myself only using it early and mid game sparingly as to not spook the enemy. I think it could be presented in a way that would allow for a personal atk sp boost and move speed buff based upon how low the enemy is. This might even have potential to be a place where his passive could be tacked on.

Not only would this allow for the semi global bloodscent and ambient atk sp buff power allocation to be spent elsewhere, it just makes sense that Warwick would power up himself as he doesn't seem like the kind of wolf to empower allies.

If the above idea were taken into consideration I would entrust riot to find a fun skill to bring to the table to support the things Warwick does well. It might even be another good place to throw in something in the spirit of his passive if the previous skill seems overloaded.

R. The effect of this skill I would want to stay largely the same, it is the most meaningful thing about his kit to me. How he gets to suppress a target however I am open to change seeing as a point and click suppress is rather dull. The thing I would like to preserve are the moments when you activate it in a long high tension slugfest it gives you just enough health and damage to emerge victorious and your opponent realizing he has made a serious miscalculation. Nothing is sweeter than taking jax down a peg in a twackfest.

Next I would like to present some things I feel could be better. One of the main reasons I have stopped playing Warwick is the introduction of scuttle crap. Chasing scuttle up and down river is one of the worst feelings in league today and I would like to see something that could improve this.

If you couldn't already tell with the skill ideas I would like to do more with my skills than click -> do a thing of in range. While the effect of a war of attrition feels good I feel as if riot could accomplish the same goal in a much more active and elegant way while allowing the opponent some recourse.

Being the savage wolf that he is I would love to see that reflected better in his attack animations and abilities. I want to feel like I'm working into a savage frenzy as a fight drags on. I want Warwick to bite and claw and devolve into a rabid..... Wolf as bloodlust takes over and he slips further away from his humanity.

The last thing I would like to see kept is his derpy animations for his hyena skin. These little things for champions are what truely make them fun to play and bring a little something extra to the table.

Thus ends my thoughts on the most savage savage on the rift. I hope Riot sees this and will trust he is in good hands. Any ideas and recommendations are welcome and encouraged as my take on Warwick might not be yours. (Also I'm sure I'm missing something important.)

Bigger question, What is Warwick, and what do we want him to be?

The last time he was actually played. (Which was back at the beginning of season 5 when the original Devourer was OP) I ended up building him way different than many of my counterparts. Most people built Devourer, and then BotRK, because it synergized with his kit so well. However, I chose the Tankier build, since Devourer stacked indefinately, I chose to focus defenses, and build like a duelist, while using my ult to lock opponents down with the Suppression. (And even building CDR to do it.)

I guess what I'm saying is, Is Warwick an Assassin? a Bruiser? a Diver? A Juggernaut? a Melee ADC?

My Thoughts are this....

No Thank You!

Warwick is actually FINE the way he is. Built right, and PLAYED right, he's quite the challenge to go up against... But you gotta remember one thing about ELO's this season...DAMAGE DAMAGE DAMAGE and MORE DAMAGE....

Notice how a lot of the reworks on the mage champs took away (and gave some extra to those that didn't really need it) their over-all threatening stance?

No? Ok. Lets make all Melee/Assassin champs start with 9,999 HP, 9,999 MP, 999 damage, 0 def, 0 m def, 999 AP, 2.50 AS, 41% CD, and 80% Crit. That should shut everyone up...right? No? Ok then.

Why is it that champs that are OK and Above-Decent keep getting a rework? How about those that have been LONG forgotten?
