Ok, finally I got to Gold and...

What I do not understand is:

First of all I am not saying I am the best player and stuff but at least i have a few pretty solid champs and I hardly ever lose bot lane (Main support)

When I was in Silver 1 it was all OK - the matches were fine. Occasionally we had bad players (and when I say bad I mean overconfident, no clue that the team is missing and engaging on doing drake alone with 0 vision at min 15(when the enemy team is around and it is not dead ;))

However, the PROMOTION SERIES to GOLD IS ABSURD!

The matchmaking is a disaster.

It took me 3 series to get into gold.

I will just share the last 2 matches 1st match - they have awesome Shaco (i saw his stats) I warded our jungler and CAME to help when shaco appeared at our red. Even though shaco somehow killed him. The mid laner never came even though we ALL saw Shaco invadling our jungle. Apart from that our TOP laner started to feed since min 5 Moreover my ADC could NOT FARM! (I don't mean she got destroyed in lane she just could not farm properly missing 50% of the creeps) Second game (I admit this was partially my fault) our mid laner stays at tower and does not cover jungle entrance. I died to protect the adc and burnt a flash (probably burning the flash was a bad idea but still) Guys come on...on promotion to GOLD the mid laner has no clue that he needs to cover the jungle entrance?????? On top of that - my adc COULD NOT FARM again??? Ofc we lost hard. When I checked his stats - he was unranked. The enemy team was Gold 3 +

So the bottom line is - why do you put unranked ppls in the promotion series??

Can any1 explain to me how this matchmaking works?

I can explain how it works in one word for you:

"badly". Been this way for a long time.

They are somewhat fixing it by letting you invite friends (up to a full team!) to your ranked games now. So there's that.

I can understand that everything cannot be great but still. A simple @If to the promotion games can fix it? It is really BAD to have 2 games in a row in promotions with BADLY unskilled players. And 1 more thing - what I do not also understand is why in Silver 1 and promotions u get to face GOLD 3+? So you have to beat a Gold 2 to get to gold 5? So why dont they put me vs an LCS player to get to Silver 1?

Hopefully this will be fixed (or at least to some extent)

I find this disturbing. While I can ward the entrance myself and then go to bot and guard there, if the mid laner just stands there this will save a lot of troubles. It is not even about ranks. U get this by only playing normal games after 1 or 2 invades.
