Winning...

Ok so here's the deal. I reached level 30 last week, and decided I'd play my promos. So far, 9 games in, I'm 1-8. I know, it's god awful. I'll probably be placed in the "Plastic I" tier. But the thing is, I don't feel like I've been playing awful. For the most part, my KDA has been positive or equal. But obviously, the only constant in these games is me, so I know that I must be doing something wrong. I just can't figure it out. So, I guess what I'm asking is, how do you win games aside from having a solid KDA or winning your lane or anything like that. (And you can check my match history too). Any feedback would be appreciated.

P.s, if anyone else is in Plastic I, hit me up! (Or maybe not, I guess)

Wise SaveGod once told me to never play ranked till you have 500 wins in normal games.

He's always right.

_If you hadn't already started your ranked placements, I would have suggested not playing ranked until at least 500 normal wins. _

Once upon a time, I was exactly like you, playing my placements the day I hit 30, losing all of them and ending up in bronze 5.

Mechanically, I was alright (my mechanics have barely changed). My biggest issue was a lack of general game knowledge. Generally in low elo games, they tend to turtle on because nobody knows what they should be doing. Botlane is dead, should we get dragon or push? That kind of thing.

I got my basic game knowledge up to scratch and managed to start directing my teams to victory, climbing up to B1 in a couple of days. This season I have been looking to improve my game knowledge even further, so that I can keep evolving my ingame shot calling as I move up the ranks. Started 1-9 in my provisionals ending up in B1 this season, I'm now gold 4 and climbing fast after actually getting into ranked about half a month ago.

On other tips to improve that will hopefully make your climb from bronze as quick and painless as possible (unfortunately bronze is where you will likely end up) take a look at my "get out of bronze" advice.

Good luck ♥

You can continue playing Ranked, or (and this is what I do) you can play a bunch of normal games, figure out around where you end up from the MMR of the people you get paired with, and then expect to end up around that area in Ranked.

if you are a new player and this is your first account, going to ranked right away is a huge mistake and you can expect the same results for quite some time.

head to normals and get some practice, learn the game, learn a bunch of champions at a decent level, etc etc

You simply can't pick up enough on the trip to 30 to be prepared for competitive games

You will hit Bronze 5 hard. That's about your rank.

You try to play complex champions like Azir/Velkoz.

**This is not how it works. **

At first, you pickup a champion who takes 0 brain and has MASSIVE reward. Then, you master 3 brainless OP champions. Once you climb to Gold 5, you can start experimenting with champions who require a little more skill. Eventually, you'll play what you actually like.

However, if you want to climb to diamond, you ONLY play overpowered 0 skill high reward champions.
