Is chat in league is really necessary ?

I would like to know if i'm the only one to think if the chat in league is not necessary anymore. I would say that if you wan't to really improve friendship in league of legends , without chat people would add more people and develop more friendship ever Skype than a salty chat. The other thing that make me think that we don't need chat in loL is , with ping , everyone know what i want to do , and what i will do. we don't need more. Because my point is half of the people are mad because people don't ping before they acting , the other half is only flame and troll the chat. The worst part is when 9 players flaming at you because it all started with one raging at you and the other one just follow for fun and troll. Otherwise there a lot of game people lose just because flamers love to flame in chat and all chat. They type more then they should and we lose game by this. Pretty frustrating. so , do we really chat in league of legend ? I'd say no because there is to many negatives points in this game to keep. And I think most of the time it destroy the fun we can have to play this game.

I use chat a LOT. Like, way more than anyone should use chat. Most of the time it's just joking around, but a lot of it is actually helping people and giving suggestions, explaining why i'm doing the things i'm doing, that sort of thing.

Things chat can do that Pings can't:

  • Reminding someone to swap out their trinket
  • Inform/Plan to do something after X (after level 6, after dragon, after item purchase, etc.)
  • Teach about abilities/items/strategy

Pings simply aren't enough communication on their own 100% of the time.

Idk but I chat and have fun with the enemy team sometimes.

well if you get rid of chat then no one can be verbally abusive. and no one wants that. i think there should be premade messages that you can use in a chat feature that are hot keyed. if you take away the chat no one can insult, verbally abuse, make fun of ect other players. toxicity couldnt exist on the level it does today. so i think it would be better served to have it removed.

yeah this is true , but Bronze and silver if to much salty. this make no sens how player react with other player. Mute button isnt enough because if I mute one , i have to mute them all because they keep talkin to the salty one . I don'T wanna say i'm a pro player , not at all. But i'm sure that i'm stuck in silver 1/2 because i keep loosing game because of theses player. chat is a problem actually i'm sure there is a better way then jsut muting! but thx for the answer ^^ keep talkin tho
