Season 5 = Season of Snowballs
Is it just me or is damn near every game a complete runaway??
Once you fall behind you cannot get back unlike season 4.
Thoughts?

There are certainly more solidified advantages in S5 and less rubber banding. I don't think people have fully realized this, and don't fight early enough to regain lost advantages throughout the game resulting in runaway wins.
Prime example of this is Dragon. After losing one, team are often lax about contesting the next respawn (or every respawn past that). It should be a concentrated effort to time Dragon (meaning it should be warded constantly to get respawn time if Dragon is killed) and to contest Dragon (meaning people consciously reserve their HP/mana/cooldowns in preperation to fight dragon and actively head there when re spawn timer is up). If Dragon is lost, the team should actively seek an opportunity for a kill on a retreating champion, taking a tower, or doing Nash.
Dragon is a permanent advantage, I cannot stress this enough. The losing team needs to take every means possible to make the Dragon killing team pay for that advantage, and actively try to secure it themselves.
I just think people are not use to this and can bounce back later, which can still happen but is much more difficult. As people catch on I think games will get closer.
This is entirely the issue. People don't prioritize dragon enough when they're behind-- I'm a firm proponent of the Two-Smite Team for S5 purely because dragon is so important now. If you can bring more Smites to the pit than the enemy team can, then you have much better odds of a steal-- which means you have better odds of a comeback.
I'd value first dragon as about 1.5 T1 towers. Would love to hear anyone else's thoughts on that.
It really depends as taking a tower vs. taking a dragon offers 2 different kinds of advantages. While dragon is definitely strong and permenent, I wouldn't count out taking a tower (which would offer map vision, more time before a someone needs to come back and push lane, opportunity to attack inhib tower). Depending on how the team plays this out the lost tower could have equal, if not more effect on the game. At the same time, it could have less effect if the team doesn't press that advantage.
So I suppose it comes down to pressing advantage/ actively recovering lost advantage be it tower or dragon.
Double smite can make sense if it can cope with the lost lane/team fight strength that any other summoner spell that could have been taken.
I believe that's how they want it right? that's how I understand it anyway. I haven't played one close game since change ijsut assume that's how it is supposed to be now.
I always thought they wanted it competitive. I know that what was fun before even though you were behind if you pulled your heads out of your asses and played right you could win.
Now, ouch, no chance of coming back.
It all comes down to that dragon control. One team always works super hard to get the dragon while the other just doesn't even try. At least that has been my experience so far.
I've seen a couple games that came down to the nexus turrets but we turned it around.
I still think it's all because of how little health the turrets have now...
The thing is that, unlike season 4 when you could simply be completely behind in everything, win a pair of teamfights in a row late game with good clean-up/reset champs, and then do a strong push in middle lane to win or get back in the game even if you were hugely behind, you need to focus much much more on objectives now and choosing what objective going for...too many times I have seen matches lost because pople went for strange objectives instead of simply pushing straight the mid lane that was most of the time the best thing to do(people wanted to do baron and wasted a lot of time that allowed enemy team to win by simply pushing lanes) There will be games when you must go straight for mid lane push cause the way is open, there will be games on which you will have to go for dragon buffs cause you know you will not be able to take down towers and nexus fast enough to win and you just have to stall and gain more power for the later parts of the game, there will be game when you wil have to go for baronto let your minions do the work for you later, there will be games on which you'll got to splitpush various lanes because they are just too strong in teamfighting and you'll need to divide them to beat them or to bait them with someone to get objectives with other champs You need to think about what you do
People have to realise they have to take dragons... Jezus I have seen games where I kept ping the dragon. After 20 minutes they realised they need to take it... This was ranked...
