Fill me in pls

Hello friends. I haven't played league in a while, I think the last time I played was a bit before Ivern's release. Can anybody update me on what's happened since in a nutshell so I can not be so lost when I start playing again? It seems like the game is quite different than it was the last time I played. Thanks.
