State of Draven

Hey guys, I'm coming off a long layoff from league. I just got back into the swing of things this preseason and could tell adc's were definitely a focus. With all the new items and changes (don't think Draven had anything other than bug fixes), where does Draven sit in the tier chart? With his kit, I assume he will never drop to average, always sit just a little above or way above. Can anybody who mains Draven like I use to shed light on his current state?

Frankly, I don't think there's really a standout ADC anymore with the current balance. Graves is being picked purely as a jungler now rather than an AD carry, Quinn is being played in every place imaginable, and Urgot has been shoved back into the shadows.

Right now ADC's with midgame spikes tend to be most heavily favored because games tend to be shorter. Ezreal, Lucian, Corki, and MF are the most popular picks because of it; most late scaling carries like Tristana and Draven get skipped because they turn on too late to impact the game.

Utility carries are also really weak in the current meta because of the raw DPS spike that adc's got, so Ashe and Sivir are also out.

tl:dr: Sorry... Draven isn't looking so great atm. But like any champion, if you're good enough with them you can steamroll anybody.

Edit: Here's the current champion.gg ranking for the season.

Draven is not bad by any means, I just find he is a support dependent ADC much like Mordekaiser, and is a bit lane phase dependent by needing to get a kill before he dies but otherwise he is pretty solid. Chunking people with pure autos is what i love about him, and he does better raw damage than Vayne in that aspect. 2 shotting people is incredibly fun
