So I've been playing leagues since season 2 and everything has been fine and dandy, until this new style of runes. Its always the same champs being played, same champs being banned. I main top lane and all the champs i play are now useless and that's unfortunate cause they are what made me love the game. I shouldn't have to be forced to play the "meta" champions just because riot wants to spice up something. All i can say is way to go Riot, you have truly out done yourselves on this one. 5 +years of playing this game just to have everything go to crap. GG Riot, ill be playing Hero's of the storm lol.

yea, I havnt played nearly as long as you but I loved this game, now I feel uninterested in trying to adapt too much is different and it was all to rebrand to a new wave of players since "it was too hard to be good" before

Kinda in a way, but atleast the towers punish you for trying to dive in Hero's.

The new runes aren't THAT different, you just need to adapt your playstyle. Of course I play adc and support, so I'm a bit biased, but this is how things go every season. There is a major overhaul of mechanics. While this is a much more drastic change than previous seasons, and some off meta stuff can't be played anymore, there are also more possibilities. The new runes all have major impact with the game, so your choices are going to be a lot more meaningful, which is what riot is going for. Not to mention the bar of entry for ranked and the game in general is a lot lower, since you get champs while leveling to level 30 and don't have to buy runes. Its overall a better, if not a bit flawed, system that is more beginner friendly. Just think of last season's pre-season with the assassin rework that came with plants and lethality. EVERYONE hated plants, and now they're a pretty handy part of the game, and there are complaints about lethality as much as there were armor pen. Its just different, and that's how they keep people playing the game. Not to mention, they've gone out of their way to reward the vetren players. I've been playing since season 4, while not nearly as long as many people, its definitely not a short time either, and I feel like the rewards that they're giving us are great. Not to mention, they're free. There are a lot of game companies that wouldn't even do that.

I dont WANT to adapt. I want to play the same fucking game I paid for and supported all these years.

Same logic as Super Mario Brothers 2. It was a failure for the same reasons.
