Does thornmail counter yasuos Q?

I was bored so I decided to check out some champs I love to play but hate to play against and then I stumbled onto yasuo, the description on his q says it counts as a basic attack. Does thornmails unique passive work against his Q? Here's the passive incase you didn't know what it was

Unique: when hit by basic attacks, returns 30% of damage, before any reductions such as armor, as magic damage.

If anyone can answer me I'd appreciate it since his Q is probably his biggest damage output.
