Minion Block Needs To Be Addressed

This is an extreme example (it's here to highlight an issue), but I have been having serious and more frequent issues with minion block lately. Pathing gets rerouted in many situations due to this and occasionally I even get cc locked (for a second or two)... by minions. I see no point to having minion block in the game anymore, it's incredibly difficult to plan around and predict and in my eyes it lowers the quality of the game. In a game of skill there shouldn't be these essentially random elements that can often mean the difference between a play working or not. I suggest lowering minion "size" or removing it entirely. Maybe I'm making a big deal out of nothing but it has definitely had a negative impact on my LOL experience.

kshaway likes to includes clips of this in his videos. the vid that he released 2 weeks ago had a malph trying to gank via ult across the wall of the raptors camp. he got stuck in a small raptor and couldnt move anymore.

champs with a bigger hitbox suffer this fate often.

i mean even in the lcs we saw what rarely happens, but does happen. a minion getting stuck in its own friendly tower.

Agreed. It's absurd and needs a fix.

Rift herald actually trapped me one time in a ranked game. A single unit! A single unit literally prevented me from moving as Sion. I had to teleport out of the pit for crying out loud. Minion block has been getting worse I swear, and on top of that, it makes super-minions not attack nexus turrets (I'm sure I'm not the only one who watches these things do the fandango) because they're getting fizzled out every time they try to move, so they stutter to another target, then another, and another... never actually attacking.

They should not remove body-blocking from champions or minions, but it definitely needs to be addressed in its current form.

there was a video of some person trying to walk across a lane and was carried like nearly 1/2 a screen down the lane by the minions.. minons should PATH AROUND YOU

Better change Fizz passive then.

the fact that things which give you the ability to pass through minions like ghost and old Phantom Dancer got nerfed/removed pretty much says this is a huge issue, but riot is treating it like a balancing lever instead :/

I play Singed, and sometimes I get CCed by enemy minions.

Do the mage minions have actual spells to snare me or something? It's ridiculous. Just another reason why ranged champions have advantage over melee.

I've had the feeling that minion block has gotten worse over the years.

It was pretty weird back in season 1,2,3 that you get minionblocked that hard. You can actually feel that, there was no complains about minion block.

I guess the constant patches has compromised the spaguetti code and made the minion block be a thing.

I run into this problem a lot with urgot getting caught on minions, jg camps, or seemingly nothing. Hope Riot does something, nothing is more annoying then getting stuck behind minions for 4 seconds and dying because of it

SangreDeNoche9/24/2018, 4:40:49 PM2 votes

I remember saying 4 months ago that I was having these issues on Urgot, Cho'gath, and Gnar only to get told there was nothing wrong and that it was impossible to change. I even made a follow up post suggesting we compromise by just having it slow champs to walk through minions. It can be increased with size or whatever but at least then I don't have to see mecha Urgot's top half spinning 270 degrees constantly as he walks through and around minions. Nope, still people let things get worse and didn't listen. I played 2 days ago I think as Shaco to try out a skin I got in hextech and I clipped into a wall walking near it. My champ was eternally spasming out until I Q'd away. This game's gutter trash now in so many ways.

I understand when there is a whole flock of minions, but what frustrates me the most is getting stuck for a second behind just 1 minion in an open field.

I swear Minion Block code changed recently. I feel like Im getting hooked on more cant move anywhere under turrets.

Why cant Riot freaking just space them out. Minion Block was not really an issue in S4 so why did they add more of it?

What about champs being able to push minions aside? Maybe bigger champs like Maokai and Urgot could push more/faster since they are bigger and suffer more from minion block. Just a thought!

Breezy Boyy9/25/2018, 2:02:58 AM1 votes

It shouldn't go away entirely, but I think you shouldn't be able to get minion blocked by your own friendly ally minions, just by enemy minions.

CIayman9/25/2018, 3:29:59 AM1 votes

I got minion blocked into an Anivia Q today

Made sure he knew it was a fluke by going 26/1 xd

I have been reluctant to play my main (Nasus) because of this issue.

Fargo799/25/2018, 12:32:39 PM1 votes

i dont mind the minion block from enemy minions... but when u walk a figure 8 around your own minions when either moving to or away from the enemy its a total piss off.. forces u to burn a summoner like heal or flash if it causes u to take too much unneeded damage..

Meep Man9/25/2018, 7:58:53 PM1 votes

I'd be fine with minion block IF the pathing around wasnt jank to where sometimes your champion just starts freaking out.

MindofStone1/5/2019, 1:02:22 AM1 votes

This thread is pretty dead but just in case anyone stumbles across it.... I was spam clicking the whole time. I feel like Riot legitimately needs to fix this because this cost me the whole lane after a gank right after I got back to lane. How do minions get massive movement priority over champions? This makes no sense

For me i think ITS ABSURD for your minions to BLOCK you. Only Enemy ones should
