Twisted Treeline has been my favorite modes to play league of legends since season 3. However, it definitely does not get the balancing that the Summoners Rift does. While this is completely understandable, I know the community would really appreciate more balancing. I believe that tanks are overpowered on this game mode. You will either see a duo top and AP bot, or a bruiser, tanky jungler, and mage. Would love to see more champs playable at a competitive level.
In 3v3s, there 2 kind of comps that are the most popular. I dont really see anything other than this. Im diamond 5 in 3s. Duo top is only a thing at low elo.

There is jungle, which a basically tank/bruiser in the jg and top, ap bot.
and support. which is basically a support top, carry jungler, ap bot.
Personally, I've had troubles with the support comp the most. The jg just takes all the farm and gets huge, hard to stop it.

I don't think Riot wants to devote any resources to it when half of its population consists of bots.
playing against a graves with smite farming bot lane and jungle was one of the most frustrating games i've ever played... kind of like playing against illaoi or swain when you have a shitty team for dealing with them
