You think a new e will be enough for gangplank?

Idk why these people (aka riot) believe a new E will magically make gangplank viable just look at his kit I mean, I love gangplank he was my first champ buying but he literally does nothing but gets free assist and shoot a few people. Right now why would anyone ever use him over all of these amazing champs with crazy kits that are much more interesting and viable than his own? What kind of new E would completely turn him around i really can't think of one. I know I can do nothing about the outcome of his rework but I love this champ and I really want to see him shine and not so frowned upon.

IN CONCLUSION to my rant, I believe he deserves at least a new passive along with the E and R tweeks. I havent seen anything said about a new passive and Its annoying so I ask riot... will there be a new passive or will you just let gp sink and fall?

Also a question to current gangplank players, would you prefer parrrley to be a skillshot? I acually would in exchange for it being able to go trough 2 people maybe or an extended range. Of course the 2nd person hit would take reduced damage Gangplank just wanna make him rich and happy :D

His E will be the first thing to go, Riot has said that. His R will probably need work. Right now it's okay, but it could have more impact. His passive should either be replaced completely or gain a scaling of some kind. It just falls off around level 3-4 and practically disappears by 9-10.

Right now, if you look at his kit and compare it to newer champions, there's no contest. GP has mana issues; And I'm talking about actual mana issues like "Q,W,E,oom". He's got no hard CC at all. His mobility is roughly equal to a Garen. His scalings are all over the place.

About the only positive thing he's got going for him is that several of his base stats are among the highest of all champions, and that at level 1 a GP with Q and crit chance runes is possibly the strongest level 1 champion aside from maybe Riven. Sadly, this advantage is greatly reduced at level 2 and is lost completely at level 3.

Not even the Koreans could find a way to make GP viable, and they tried their hardest with the Koreanplank build.

Here's an idea.

E - Get Boarded: Gangplank swings on a rope in a targeted direction. If he collides with a champion, he grabs that champion and swings back to his starting spot.

Potential to be a bit of a troll if it can be used on teammates, but it fits with the pirate theme, gives everyone's favorite stat (mobility), and can potentially let him earn that "Support" secondary role.

A new Q and passive was enough to make Ashe broken. I'd wait and see what they can do for GP before we complain.

I agree! I was thinking about a few things. Like making GP more of a bruiser. Like giving him a new passive and his E would have both a new passive and active. Some change that would allow him to build 1-2 full defensive items while still keeping his regular crit plank damage.

Now hold up. Say what? Yes you heard me. BUT

If his Q would be a skillshot, then things could be interesting. Q would deal more, allowing GP to build tanky, but having it as a skill shot would prevent people from abusing it. Just a thought though.. I'm just brainstorming here xD

I just want his passive to scale better into late game. I mean, the slow is always nice but the damage falls off pretty quickly.

as his old e had been a lot of his power...i think they´ll ruin him. all he would have needed had been a new passive (and maybe some power taken away from the q to someplace else, as it really is low-counterplay).

nobody mentions his q

while crit plank is fun to play ... and i even enjoy an ap gp from time to time

its not something that should be preserwed ... one shot that you pray for to crit, thats not much of a good gameplay here
