TBH my biggest issue with remake is actually that the AFK does come back at 2:50 or something. Assuming the game isn't like sub-gold, the AFKs lane opponent is going to be up 30 cs and a couple levels by the time they get to lane, which should pretty much guarantee that the lane is lost without jungler intervention. (Keep in mind at the pro level lanes can be decided by single digit CS differences at equal level, and while lower elos are much worse at making that difference count, level differences and 30+ cs is much more punishable by mortals.)
Occasionally the other two lanes will be winning and the late person can be carried, and occasionally the late person is simply better and can catch up, but why should 4 players risk their LP on someone who has already demonstrated themselves to be unreliable? The number of times I've had games where someones DCs, comes back, DCs in lane and dies, comes back, and repeats is entirely too many.
The client isn't perfect and there are various issues, but the vast majority of the time if everything is set up properly and theres no corrupt files, then theres no issues. It's unfortunate when you discover you have issues in a ranked game, but you shouldn't potentially ruin things for 4-9 (depending on how much the opposing team values competitive integrity) people, and the tech forum folk are pretty good at helping people sort out things so they don't have bugsplat woes.
