Can we talk about supports and pyke ?

Ok, his 600Gold is OP and not fair. I understand. But people who hate him because he's an assassin. Did you see how many mage invaded botlane oneshoting the adc in 3 Lvl ? Like Brand or Zyra. These 2 just don't need the adc with them. I would rather play against Pyke instead of this deepshit Zyra or Brand. I just saw a thread in EUW boards talking about what supports should do. And he said "Support should help their teammates by healing and shielding and protecting and having CC. So Pyke got CC and give gold to teammates. Ok, so what the fuck Brand or Zyra get me in lane instead of being tilted how they take cs and kills everytime I go to the get some farm or kills ?. I've played Pyke a lot. And the only problem he got now is his 600Gold. Otherwise he's balanced. You people just complain (specially adc mains). Because they just got used to being oneshoted by mages instead of AD assassins because AD assassins are weak asf unless they get a Veigar or Zoe in lane.

I honestly dislike Top/Mid/Jungle Pyke more, but that was back when he was released and mostly because I play lane bullies like Illaoi and Darius.

As far as the original greedy supports (Brand, Zyra, Annie, Vel'Koz, etc), it varies between them why they went support:

Brand - Ult is better against two champions instead of one; can also stun an enemy with WQ or EQ.

Zyra - Ult is AoE knock up, E is a linear passthrough root and creates plants that slow the enemy down when it hits seeds, and W/passive acts as vision it the enemy decides to step on them.

Annie - Passive grants a stun to three of her abilities, including two AoEs and a point and click single target spell. Not to mention Annie used to suffer due to a lack of mobility and range, so having an ADC harass them or slow them down while they get close enough to land a passive-charged Tibbers seems pretty good.

Vel'Koz - While Vel has a knock-up with E and a long range slow with Q, the main reason why he got picked as a support was because of the range of his autos as well as his abilities; I actually believe at one point he had an even longer aa range than Caitlyn.

Basically, while greedy supports don't have sustain for their lane partner or even durability to survive engages or peels, they do have CC and can kill the enemy allowing the ADC to farm freely. Pyke is kinda like this, except he does it better.

IMO the issue with pyke is not laning phase, its late gane when he will look for hooks on such a short CD, stealth away / heal whenever you try and focus him, and get resets on his ult.
