How in gods name do people jungle S6?!

The realest of talk. The new jungle items in my opinion are stupid underpowered right now. Since they got rid of Trailblazer certain junglers like Rammus and Nid, Most tank junglers ect, Struggle to clear. At least this is my opinion, Whereas before I could go attack speed armor and MR runes? Now If I pull that shit ill die right after gromp.

Either the new jungle items are underpowered, Or I just suck. Personally I'm just annoyed, Level 4 Super Sonic Speedball Rammus main, Before I could clear all the jungle camps no problem. Its borderline Impossible now with the shit new jungle items.

Idk, ITs just a bit annoying being able to play a champ that I'v played since like season 3, And now its damn near impossible to have any sort of gank presence early game thanks to not being able to clear my jungle without having a quarter of HP everytime I gromp, Blue and wolves.

Tips? Tricks? Help?! Season 6 is the Season of junglers being shit on I think.

I think its that people used the mastery Tough Skin a lot to reduce Monster damage, and now that we have new masteries we are all going for 18/12/0 (or something similar).

Right now I have a 18/6/6. The first 6 in Cunning is for Runic Affinity to keep those buffs longer. And the second 6 in Resolve is to get Tough Skin again... Was shocked at the difference even as I played Kindred . But this is just my setup. Just remember the old Tough Skin mastery and I think you should be set. Also get this item 2031 then upgrade into this item 2032 which helps a ton as well.

The lack of bladed armor might also have something to do with it.

ProfDrDeath1 votes

Maybe. But that's not as certain - a lot of people did not even take that mastery anymore for jungling. Rather, they picked up the mastery that reduced all damage from champions...

Ralanr1 votes

Bladed armor dealt bleed damage to monsters that hit you.

ProfDrDeath1 votes

I know.

But with 9 in defense, quite a few of the junglers did take the champion damage reduction instead of Bladed Armor, due to the damage not being worth the point.

Oh. I always ended up tanking it when building junglers. It was the most recommended.

I can agree to that too. I'm sure it really hurt Tank jungle players a lot by removing that. Though I'm not a great Tank player, unless I'm playing support as Leona keeping my carry safe in lane. Which is much easier to do then keeping your whole team safe, well to me that is.

Back on track: Not sure how to help out the Tank Jungle mains right now. Wish I could though! Seriously though, we should band together and look over all 3 Mastery Trees to figure out how to help all the Tank Jungle mains!

Just take tank masteries

Okay #1 do not buy refillable potion, it's outrageously under powered and since the jungle now has to have 5 camps cleared at least for your jungle item 200 hp vs 450 is just no comparison.

Machete is almost always better

Take armor quints

Recomended to start gromp, red smite is essential to clear 5 camps.

Start W Q W E, since you will get lvl 4 and back before ganking, low sustain junglers are bad at ganking during first clear.

I was able to clear all 6 doing a test just now utilitizing all these tips.

0/12/18 masteries.

This new jungle is bullshit, all this effort to clear it and expensive items that we can't even afford since our income was reduced by 22-24g per camp.

I think you forgot to mention which champ this is advice for.

He is a Rammus main.

Grab a Hunter's potion if you need the sustain. Upgrading smite isn't as high priority now as the extra exp isn't as significant outside of first clear, so maybe grab the secondary component first if you're having troubles.

first off: the jungle recommendations in the shop are sometimes just WRONG.

example: they recommend for xin, to get the mana item first. WRROONNNGGG!!! Get machete first, like always.

Now, as far as tank junglers go: yeah, the lack of junglemob bleed masteries hurts. I went through a lot of custom games, trying out what works best for level 3 clear. I had to build sejuani as pure AD damage early game, to make the sollo clear work. You probably have to do the same thing with ramus.

Also, similarly; their recommendation of the refillable potion sucks. Get 3 normal ones. You'll have effectively 150 more HP (?).

EndlessSorcerer1 votes

Rammus is honestly pretty easy to do.

Runes: Flat Armor Seals and Quints, Attack Speed Marks, and Scaling MR Glyphs. Masteries: 12/0/18 (Any Keystone works) Starting Item: Hunter's Machete and 3 Health Potions Skill Levels: WQEWER, R>E>W>Q Camp Order: Krugs (Smite), Raptors, Red Buff (Smite), Wolves, Blue Buff

I have enough health left at the end of my clear to run around ganking lanes as I wish.

Also, similarly; their recommendation of the refillable potion sucks. Get 3 normal ones. You'll have effectively 150 more HP (?).

Refillable Potion offer two charges which each restore 100HP. Each health potion restored 150HP and you can purchase three of them.

It's a 250HP difference in your first clear. You don't really need health potions beyond your first clear or two anyways.

I wouldn't recommend getting the refillable potion on anyone, really.

Try nunu, its dumb

Big Lincoln1 votes

Nautilus clears it just fine

what tanks are struggling, exactly? Rammus is very strong right now. Maybe Sejuani, since she has no defense steroid..

delonix1 votes

Sejuani has the third highest base armor and gets 10 armor at level 1 from her passive, so I wouldn't say she has NO defense steroid, although it might not be the strongest. I think the current jungle is more difficult for most junglers than it used to be, so people who were backing after their second buff with low health now cannot clear both buffs without backing.

Also, the refillable potion is not as strong as the two potions that were bought alongside machete, so if junglers opt for that instead of 3 health potions, the clear will seem harder.

i know with Evelyn i run Flat AD reds Flat armor Yellows, Flat AP Blue's,flat AP Quints. Mastery's 18/12 DFT Keystone with talisman and 3 HPots. Key is to start Gromp (Smite). Pull blue so your hate spike hits all three mobs and start fight with first HPot, use second if needed. move to scuttle wait for spawn (spawning time is off with game start time now). Takes a second to show sometimes. Move to red start last Hpot.(smite when low). then pick up second scuttle and gank nearest lane u can. thats how i do first run with evelyn. Before ganking a lane i tend to have an almost full health pool after second scuttle.

Ok I was curious and had to try it:

Just tested Jgl within a coustom Game = NO Leash!

First I used Leona: Survived quiet fine, recalled after Raptors got item 2032 , was full life after Gromp and could gank. Second Rammus: Did a full first clear, got item 2032+item 1039, never lost a single HP @ second clear.

I guess everything would have worked with some HP-Pots as well. ^^ (But I hate to burn my money on those!)

Wait seriously? I find it actually easier now lol, but then again I main jungle and I found it easy (and extremely fun) even back in pre-season/season 5 when everyone was complaining then too...

Try thinking outside the box...

  1. You don't 'have' to back at a certain point (although it certainly does help to hit a benchmark first). Back early and get Hunter's Potion and clearing is a cakewalk to the point of actual boring stupidity =( If you can get both Hunter's Potion and Hunter's Talisman on first back, you're completely set.

  2. Also consider ganking (or invading) early, even as early as level 2, no matter what champ (just make sure you have the HP). If a lane is pushed, a successful kill or assist can set you well on your way.

  3. Always take attack speed runes (either marks or quints or both), and armor seals. No matter what champion or role, even as an AP. Gives the fastest clears.

  4. Lastly as one other person said.. you don't 'have' to put 12 secondary mastery points into something, you can run 18-6-6 or even 6-6-18 as a tank and get that tough skin. IT HELPS. As does Savagery. I personally never even cared much for runic affinity, since I usually give away 2nd or 3rd buffs anyway, but tough skin is absolutely essential.

If you're running 18 Ferocity though, get Fervor (and attack speed most of the time). It's amazing for clears. I usually run 18-0-12 myself, for most champs, even some tanks. Others I go 12-0-18 or 0-12-18. Graves can go 18-12-0 and never have a single problem (nerf pls) =P

Hope this helps.

Are you using the 400g flasks or not? They actually aren't bad on some champs as a FORST buy, depending on how tanky you are. I did it with Lee and Shyv since they clear fast.

item 2032 is really good, but item 2031 is trash and may be too weak. If you can at least do 3 camps (one half the jungle) with two item 2003 and either item 1041 or item 1039 then you can back and get item 2032 + item 2043 . Gold generated passively while traveling likely makes up the difference of starting 3 potions if you need the extra boost to get both buffs before backing if you feel the need to do so.

http://www.leagueofgraphs.com/ is a useful resource for determining if you should be testing an alternate set of starting items from those recommended as it will list the win rate for various starting items on champions.

LeeSin item 1041 item 2031 Evelynn item 1041 item 2003 item 2003 item 2003 (item 2031 is competitive depending on the ELO filter, I suspect it depends on which side of the jungle you start as Red buff side has been far easier for all of last season with her) Nidalee item 1039 item 2003 item 2003 item 2003
