Riot Games Support

Hello Community, I was told by a Riot employee to submit my problem here as "Player Support isn't the greatest medium for you to convey these [my] ideas." I really hope that someone from Riot or members of this community take the time to read through my request and seriously consider it and help back it up. League of Legends is a great game that I really enjoy to play with my friends. Time and time again I can rely on this game to cheer me up and connect me with my friends in a closer way. This game has really helped me to make good, dependable friends, and I really thank Riot as a company for this. Even when I started playing ranked, I enjoyed the experience of climbing with my friends, and my best friend and I reached silver together last year. We were so excited this year to attempt to get even higher, we couldn't wait for the new season to start. But as it did start and continued to pass by, we to reached a stand still at around Silver 2-3, And I feel that my friend and I could really be at around Gold 5. Sometimes when we queue up and play, we win, because our team as a whole does really well, and as a team game, this is how it should go. But when we lose the other half of the time, our team always does poorly, and we do exceptionally well, even though we lose. The enemy gets fed off of the other members of our team that are doing poorly. I feel that this is unfair, and it really puts me and my friend in an unhappy mood. We try so hard to win but we can't succeed because we are held back by our other teammates. So I really want your company to consider the following: At lower ranks (Bronze, Silver, maybe even Gold), make the MMR system based on KDA and CS. I hope that LP will be gained and lost based on positive and negative scores, rather based on whether you win or lose. This would really improve the system, making climbing for better players easier, and keeping the worse players in the place they deserve to be. I think that this system would be vary effective, and the player base would really enjoy this. Either this or I would like for you to boost my friend and I's MMR so that we get to play with people who are higher skill level. Since MMR is based off of wins and losses, I think it makes it especially difficult to climb. We just want to be in the rank we belong. Thank You for reading through this and I hope for the best :)

That block of text

Have you ever considered that your other team mates doing poorly might be because your premade ignores them and only focuses on the people in it?

I usually only duo, and when I try to connect with people in chat, they just get offended. I have no idea why and after every time I report people (which is very common) they get banned because EVERYONE reports them. Generally, it seems, they are to arrogant to look past themselves. I don't know though, maybe if people keep getting banned, I'll eventually get put with all of the good players :P

whats to stop me from you know playing sivir or really any champ and just csing never helping and every once and a while ksing a kill but i dont care if i lose since my kda and cs look good i will rise in lp and never really earn my rank

Erica Blandelli1 votes

How will you rise in lp unless you win? What good does never helping when you lose lp from not playing as a team?

Erica Blandelli1 votes

Oh wait, just kidding. Disregard that comment above. That would be how it works until you get to a higher team based rank, like once one gets to gold, it will be based on win/loss. It would weed out the unskilled and then the game would just be about playing as a team.

I wouldn't really consider it a well deserved win when your team does well. Only when your team is 0/30 and you make the difference can you say it was well deserved.

You should really consider communicating and learning how to use a lead to make a win, than focus on enemy gamers. the truth is, that objective based gameplay and shotcalling matter a lot more than the x/x/x at the top of the screen.

The point of this post was to point out how it is extremely hard to climb ranks at lower elo's because teammates can range anywhere from good to bad. In my experience, I have been as high as silver 1 and then consistently got bad teams, which spiraled down until I have recently landed in silver 4. I totally agree with your statements about how games should be focused on teamwork and communication, but I don't trust the players at silver - bronze to be able act as a team. Time and time again, I will be in a position where I am the only one alive after everyone goes into a fight one by one, and I cannot express to you the rage I feel when these people throw everything we have worked for down the drain. As I looked over those matches, I something similar to my situation. Think of me as Elise in your first game. I am always fed and doing exceptional, but my team just can't get it together. I really just want to be placed with and against people with the same skill level as me, and these losing streaks that aren't my fault seem to be putting me even farther away from this.

Haven't seen a Kayle main for a while :P

Except, It's not hard to climb at lower ranks. Your team mates are without exception, bad and so are the enemies. By definition, you could consider each lane a 50/50 if you don't impact it. The difference is, you exist to impact the map. Having a positive KDA means nothing.

If you "Trust" randoms, you're not going to ever win. You can't trust your team to say, hey, 2 people are dead we should baron and reset. Players in silver and bronze actually have no clue and might be farming the jungle.

Let's talk about that Elise, and why she did not deserve to win or lose more or less LP. For the most part, Elise functions as an early game pick for making picks and snowballing a single lane into complete dominance. I went 0/5 against Darius in the first 16 minutes of the game. While she did focus on the 80% winrate Kayle, our bot lane was getting TP ganked by Twisted Fate and Me. she really should have focused more on getting botlane ahead because darius does nothing in a teamfight situation. Darius can't split either, because of Twisted Fate and i had Rylais.

The overwhelming flaw that happened is she focused on the wrong lanes. If i was her, i would focus on Twisted Fate and botlane. A draven that's behind can't do nearly as well as a cait who scales, and Twisted Fate excels at creating map pressure. Having Taliyah further ahead would make it much easier to relieve pressure, and push for a tower advantage.

I'd also blame elise for taking all the kills, because she doesn't scale worth anything. It's a classic tale of a jungler trying to make an impact, but not thinking it all the way through.

:D Kayle's awesome. Something about a strong judicator, that has the political power and beauty / purity is just amazing. <3 Blonde hair and blue eyes is also a plus. If she was a little younger she'ed be damn cute too lol

It's true that my teammates and enemies are bad, but it always feels like I am paired with enemies that are better than my teammates. Consistently my team will lose, and it's not like I'm doing anything wrong (most of the time). When I am the problem I accept that I am feeding and do my best to play safe, or whatever that specific game calls for me to do. But it seems that no one really thinks this way. Everyone seems to think they can 1v5 and it just throws the game.

When it comes down to the way she played, maybe the elise wasn't a very good example. I can understand a jungler who takes kills and does well individually losing in a game because the game is team oriented. However, I predominantly play adc, so the only real thing I can do is get a good score and cs. So unless I win lane (and pray that I get a jungler who can counter-gank), I can't contribute to the team at all. This is where the KDA thought came from.

True that the game is team oriented, and deserves to be based on how well the team does, the score of the game tends to be all over the place because there are many people of such varying skills playing. Some are good some are bad. It sure makes it hard to carry as an adc when the mid-laner or top-laner has fed the assasin or tank/bruiser. But that doesn't even matter if your team can peel for you.

I guess my real issue is with balancing and how matchmaking is chosen. If that's the case, then I really would like for Riot to do something about it, because it seems I'm stuck in elo hell. I'm not even bronze anymore! I don't even think I should be Diamond, I just want to be put where I deserve to be (I think thats around Gold 5) and then gain more skill as I play with people that are on the same level as me.

1st Paragraph: Not true, you're paired with 4 idiots compared to the enemy team's 5. This statistically sets you forward over a long series of games. In your elo, everyone throws multiple times a game and it goes un punished. My experience in silver is that the people on both sides are so grossly incompetent that i could get away with absurd things. Even as an ADC i could abuse my range and all ins so much more effectively that i wouldn't even need a support.

Well, as an ADC your role is to provide consistent DPS in teamfights and assist with turret sieging to an extent. Your job is once bot tower falls, you rotate between top and mid to try and push those towers down, and force fights at dragon. In silver, you don't even need to really do that, just shove bot out every chance and then run between there and mid all game and that pressure will drive out the enemy. My emphasis is on the map, and yours is on KDA and scores and on your team mates. That's the disconnect that keeps you losing IMO.

It's team oriented, But single person can still take complete control with rotations, and pressure. The score is irrelevant because the players don't understand how to finish and complete a match. /Mute all the dissenters and just keep playing to improve and hopefully snag that late game win. Let's be honest though, even if the assassin is fed they're likely to burn their entire burst combo on the tank anyway. You can outplay them so hard by playing with the fog of war and waiting for crucial cooldowns.

The divisions are an illusion. The only thing that matters is your win%. Even if they did change it, what makes you think silver would change worth anything? You're still going to get matched with the 500 ping X person who feeds in X roll. That doesn't even change as you get higher. If you played another 1500 matches you would problably be diamond 5 with your win rate. Just spam Ezreal / Jinx ADC and Zac Sion Nasus top. you'll be gold 5 in like 80 games by limiting yourself to this.

So are you saying that I shouldn't focus on how I do in games, but rather I should keep playing my best roles to the best of my abilities until I eventually get placed into higher divisions?

Sanctimonious1 votes

Yeah pretty much. Still try to improve small things on the way up though.

Ok, but isn't that ridiculous? That makes climbing seem like the game is less team oriented and more individually based when in fact it is the opposite. I'm not saying you are wrong, but that is is stupid

It's not, you're the common denominator. Your teammates, are bad. Every game, despite if you're winning or not. Why would you go into a game, relying on bad people trying to climb? You're much better off focusing on what you're doing well, can improve on and going from there. Where you're at, it's not necessarily a team game. I'd call it more of a group of individuals than anything.

As a jungler, You need to look towards making an impact that makes those "individuals" idiot proof to carry. This means, Dragons and ganks for winning lanes helping to snowball and shut down an enemy laner. past 13 mins, You need to be on the ball for rotations and making things happen across the map. You need to be the driving force that makes things happen.

Theres similar stuff for every role. Only person to blame for not climbing is yourself.
