My girlfriend is not an amazing league player by any means, but its better than average holding a silver rank all last season. With the new placements she landed in bronze 5. While others i know who are much worse who WON LESS PLACEMENT GAMES WITH WORSE SCORES are ranked higher. This seems completely wrong and unfair. I've even noticed pro and ex pro players ranking much much lower than they ever have before. Something is screwed up here!

Had an MMR of what should havebeen your average Silver player last season. I made the climb from B5 to B1 in just 4 days at the end of the season. And decided that would be good enough to do me this season.
So this season, I jumped on the train just like everyone else, and went 5-5 for promos. Now, I carried ALMOST all if not ALL of those games. AND STILL GOT PLACED IN BRONZE 5. What in the actual hell is this?
I have a friend, Hustensaft, his ingame name. Who went 3-7, fed most of his games and got Bronze 3, his MMR was 3 times worse then mine. AND HE GOT BRONZE 3.
In short, this system is totally shot.

imagrey3 votesYes the system is the most broken i've seen. It's impossible to rank up, every series i start i get trolls or people who surrender at 20. It's impossible, the rank system should be based more on how you play and help your team than just win/lose. Terrible game I can't believe i wasted so much time playing it.

Le Cheesie1 votesI was placed lower than I was last season, even though I won more of my placement matches. I wouldn't say it's failed, but it seems kind of wonky. I'll end up in the division I'm meant to be in though, so I'm not too worried.

RoyaiChaos1 votesYou can only go up to Plat so all pro players will go down. And a lof of it is based of your mmr from the last season. If you had an extremely low mmr, then even if you win all your games, you still might end up lower. On the other hand, if you had an extremely high mmr than you might even be placed somewhere higher even if you lose all your games.
Daaaaang1 votesAs far as I understand it... the new ranking system has nothing to do with wins/losses, but everything to do with how you performed yourself? I haven't been placed yet... so I can't speak to that.. but I was in S5 last season and so far I'm 2-1 doing pretty decent in all three games. After hearing the forum outcry, I'm guessing it will put me somewhere back in Bronze.. but time will tell.
Also.. it doesn't help that literally everyone is doing their provisionals right now. It's harder to move up when the sample size is larger.
Sukishoo1 votesI haven't tried myself yet but I have a friend that went 3-7 and was placed Silver 1 and was Gold 1 last season, so I see it as fairly even overall (depending on how you do and what you previously were).
Digielf1 votesIts because the system in LoL depends 100% on luck and not on your personal score in Dota 2 you progress through your own skill and it doesnt depend on the other 4 of your team
THMONKY1 votesNot to mention how often I can whoop ass this season through Bronze (despite having a great MMR, preseason and getting 6/4 for placement, yet starting as a B4) get up to a Tier promo, then "coincidentally" be stuck with awful players who have terrible MMRs and are known feeders/afkers and get dragged down again to B2 or B3. Funny how when promos aren't an issue I win 3 out of every 5 or better, yet when getting into a promo match suddenly go 2-8 for the next 2 or 3 sets of ten. I know that Riot for the last 3 seasons at least, including this one, will intentionally sink good players playing solo queue while letting shitty players be paired with a team that will carry them through a Tier promo. It's fucked up and needs to stop. We're all aware that Riot touts the Ranks as being pyramidal, yet they should be far more diamond-shaped. I encourage all players in ranked play to complain as hard as they can and spread the word. Some people out there ARE really amazing (but usually are getting boosted, which there is no report for...) but unless they're playing broken champs are usually average at best. Sure, there ARE some really terrible people too, but the majority of players should be Silver or Gold, with the exceptional being Plat or above and the TRULY awful being in Bronze. Please Riot, stop fucking good players just because they can't/won't play ranked teams. Make the Tiers correct and let them accurately reflect play skill and teamwork.
Amelie1 votesKeep in mind that between seasons there is a soft reset. That does NOT mean you get to start where you left off last season even if you go 10/10 in placements. It's still a reset. You are supposed to keep climbing, not do placements and take the output as your final ranking.
I was Gold 1 last season, got placed in Silver 4. I did poorly in my placements. I got back to Gold and still working on it. I don't think the system has failed.

Nervtoet1 votesI have some friends who were gold last season... and most of them play better than most silvers played last season but for example I have 2 frineds who were gold 2 and 1, they played duo, won 7 out of 10 and got silver 1 and 2 even though they did play well. I am confused..
