Next Season Placements

I have a question about next seasons ranking system. Is it gonna be like this year and place you based on the league you were in last season?! [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

Current plan is that your previous season's MMR will still be a significant factor in where you get placed next season (so a soft reset again like the last few seasons).

So you'll have the same adjusted MMR in both the flex and soloq?

Wait wait wait wait, so you're telling me, all the boosted animals that got to Platinum and Gold from Dynamic Que, are going to stay at the rank that they shouldn't be or can't play properly at?

No, if they fail placements because they are bad and boosted, they don't get a free ticket to where their ELO was. Plat's usually get set back to Silver anyway, even if you do well in placements.

If I were boosted, I'd stay at the boosted level, playing the minimum number of games and try to hold it until the season ends while playing on another account. At worst, I'd drop down to a rank where there is no decay.

Really? Cause I was gold last season and got Silver I with just six wins.

Being Diamond 4 now makes me wonder here I'll end up after my promos :P

Was Gold 5 last season and started Silver 1, heh.

Is Pre-Season coming after next patch?

We're currently targeting patch 6.22 for the pre-season (so around the start of November - will likely have a patch cycle that's a week longer than usual in there).

Have you considered offering players the chance to redo placement series once a season?

I completed 8 games of placements and had the MMR of a Silver 2. However, I had intentional feeders in my next 2 games which dropped me 5 divisions down to B2.

I also had a terrible predicament in Season 5. I was in Bronze 5 and my MMR was something like 8, yes 8 at one point. Even if I'd win 10+ games in a row, I'd still be hundreds of points off of the normal MMR and couldn't advance. A chance to redo placements would have fixed this.

you basically take your rank and put it a couple ranks back because of the soft reset
