Flex vs Solo rank

Am I the only one who is super frustrated that your rank is different for each ranked queue? I am low silver in both queues (and belong there) but I frequently end up playing against Solo queue plats in Flex queue because somehow they are silver in Flex. It is so hard to climb in Flex when I'm constantly playing against way better players. I wish I could say I'm at least learning from them but honestly the smashing happens so fast (especially with premades) it's hard to wrap my head around it. I used to play Flex more than any other mode but now I just play ARAMs if my Solo partner isn't around. :(
