Ascension: Cho'gath ult is confused?

EDIT: So as it turns out, there are 3 buffs on mid Xerath. One is straight up damage reduction, then one of them has a tooltip that Feast and Consume CANNOT be the killing blow on the boss. I forget the third.

Cho'gath ult on the Ascended boss critter in the middle did damage, but not the True damage against heroes, nor the 1,000 damage against NPCs. Anyone else notice this?

I've been trying to kill steal the damn thing in team fights but there's nothing telling me how much damage I will actually end up doing. I'm also not able to take a break and look to see if there's a tooltip saying he has resist of some sort, or if he's a minion, or a hero.

I'm not sure how Cho's ult works at all on ascension. I ulted the ascended when he had 250 health left and I still somehow managed to fail. I am wondering if it's impossible to use feast to execute the ascended.

Xerath himself cannot be killed by consume/feast (it'll deal damage but leave him at 1 hp I think). How it works with ascended champions I'm not sure tho.

Nunu , Chogath share these features. I have stolen ascensions as nunu, but nun being ascended is awful when you cant do your bush tactics.... but idk chogath seems broken if he can 50-0 xerath... all i can think of is it has a cast animation
