Hi I'm LordYamon. I'm a hardcore RTS player. I've been playing RTSes since i was 5 years old starting with warcraft 2. I've been playing league since early season 2 and I've spent like 2,000 dollars on riot points. I've never posted on the forums before because I never felt like I had anything to say. I will say that I love league of legends and it takes up most of my time and i'm fine with that :P I really like riot and I think their moba is the best moba always thought it was the most unique and had the best art out of any other moba. My favorite thing about league of legends is the addition of runes and masteries which I think is a great concept being a warcraft 3 dota player.

I've never really played ranked much due to the fact that as a hardcore gamer i never thought a team oriented game to be competitive.

This season I decided I was experienced enough to get to a decent rank, say Mid-Low Gold if I tried hard enough.

Turns out I was right. I got to silver 1 with 90 lp from bronze 2 in a few weeks.

But after that something strange happened, I went from a 53% win ratio and almost in gold, to losing every single game all the way back down to silver V with -1 LP ( now 49% win ratio ) and I've been stuck there for weeks and haven't advanced a single division/tier/bracket, anything.

Every single game I play I feel like the enemy team is better than mine. I've played so many games with the exact same results, that it seems I can carry my team for about 45 minutes until the enemy team gets strong enough off of CS and objectives to to beat me 1v1 when I split push.

I've also been laning against players with 1500 MMR so I can't get fed off of my lane ( I main Top ). Also most of the time I get ganked 5-6 times by the enemy jungler and mid laner while my jungler doesn't know how to set up his runes/masteries and can't clear the jungle. Or picks junglers that can't jungle in the current meta due to changes/reworks etc.

I suspect something is wrong with my account/MMR or the match making system. This has been an ongoing problem for a pretty ridiculous amount of time. Evidence that makes me think this might be the case if the fact I made a smurf account and I've played about 50 games and lost 4.

Here are some examples ( just because there are few examples, doesn't mean this hasn't occurred often )

I am not a "salty" player and I wouldn't of made this thread if I didn't think there was legitimate concern. I could be EXTREMELY unlucky but I mean i haven't walked under 1000 ladders, or dropped a bomb on a mirror factory.

win 20 consecutive games and you'll fix your MMR no problem. and start gaining an even amount in either direction win or lose.

riot isn't out to get people, you just have to be consistent or lucky at this point.

basically riot looks at all the games you've played, the more you play the smaller your gains and losses because it thinks it has a firm understanding of where you belong.

unfortunately if you play enough in low silver or bronze you'll never escape because you literally have no idea what proper game mechanics look like.

i suggest you watch a streamer play and just mimic what they do, in your preferred position ofc, and on your champion would be even better. i guarantee results if you stop doing whatever it is you usually do in games, and just do what they do.

riot also takes into consideration who you are up against, if they are lower than you, you are expected to win. you're silver 5, your opponent is bronze 2, why wouldn't you outrageously stomp them? why would it even be close? because you made mistakes and played ham aggro, hence your 16 deaths. no1 gets 16 deaths without inting.

the biggest offense i see on your screen, 178cs after 54minutes. those are rookie numbers, you gotta pump those numbers way up.

my laning opponent is always around 1500 MMR ( Op.GG says belongs in gold 1), I still beat him and win my lane. I carry for 45 minutes. I always get top inhib and we still lose. If i wasn't in the game it would be ff at 20 for my team.

sorry for explaining the problem is you, if you would like tips on improving your own personal play id be more than happy to help.

your cs is below his 3/5ths his....

yasuo solo killed you first.

then you killed yasuo

then you killed yasuo again

then yasuo killed you

then you killed yasuo again.

2-3.

in the top lane its always heavily one sided, the only exception is with jungle influence or you're both tower diving way unnecessarily. honestly jayce is a strong counter against yasuo, you poke him before hand once or twice and then you auto win the hard engage.

if someone stood over your shoulder and watched while you played, told you how to win, would you do it? or would you continue to play aggro because thats whats fun?

You're gold 5. two weeks ago i was a division lower than you. I will always accept tips, ways to improve on play but only if it's from someone diamond+. Gold 5 isn't even above average. It's like you didn't even read the thread. The topic at hand is the match making system, not my play.

MMR only matches you with similarly rated players. if the system was out to get you you would face off against better opponents, not lesser ones.

in the event you find yourself against a worse opponent than yourself and you lose, you either gave it to him, or the system is functional and you're not really a silver 1 - gold 5 player.

the system unfortunately works, feel free to blame your team mates but if it were true you were being dragged down you would eventually reach a point where you just roll the enemy into the dirt. seeing as how you blatantly lied to me im left believing you're just salty you cant rank up.

go ahead, prove me wrong, stop dieing and break 300 CS. i guarantee you wont stop diving your enemy laner the moment hes in range of one of your abilities, you cant even fathom a lane where you dont spend all of your mana trying to kill the enemy.

you have no idea what you're talking about man. I didn't intentionally lie to you, i have memory problems due to a medical condition. And that game vs yasou he got 6 ganks and I got 0. my WW was running stormraider's surge and had 30 cs in 10 minutes.

And yes MMR is supposed to match you with similiary skilled players. I've said 100 times now that i get matched against people with 1500 mmr, you don't read the thread i don't know what's wrong with you. That's the whole point of the thread. You're just arguing semantics and moot points and that's why I don't use forums.

Ranked is screwed this season, just dont play it if you value your sanity.

Absolute clownfest of trolls, bad matchmaking, feeders, smurfs and random dumb luck; battling windmills for no reason.

LordYamon1 votes

I will also add that my friends do not like to play with me on LordYamon because we always lose and ask me to play on my smurf account and I don't want to. I've also gotten chat restricted and I'm apparently in the top 5% most toxic players and I do not consider myself toxic or a rager. This is becoming a real problem and here is another example.

MagicFlyingLlama2 votes

"top 5% of toxic players" is a buzzword riot flings around, it means absolutely nothing. Most players (at least 50%, definitely not 5%) who play ranked end up chat restricted at least once, guessing by the sort of shit people say on a regular basis and the things that typically trigger the review-bot.

To be honest, the difference between G4 and S2 is MASSIVE. To people who are far above or below this bracket it seems like nothing, because (especially upward) it is relatively speaking, but if you fall into this bracket, ants can seem like elephants. You're likely tilted, got tilted by a couple bad games and just don't see it. If you drop that much, you likely boned your own mmr hardcore. If you want "proof" that your mmr isn't "secretly insanely high for no reason" just look at your LP gains and losses. If you're gaining/losing in the area of 10, your mmr is likely below/around your ELO. If it was drastically above it, you'd be gaining 22-29 LP (more, but I think past 29 you get into exceptional circumstances). And let's be clear, I don't really care what your gains are; nobody does. We're not here to have you brag or flatter you. Take the information, accept it/reject it, move on.

And yes I have a certain sense of what I'm talking about because I regularly bounce accounts from bronze to plat (not boosting or anything, I just have friends who aren't always in my elo).

No if it was me simply being tilted by a couple bad games I wouldn't of made this thread. And lets be clear. I didn't make this thread looking for community feedback. I originally posted this in the help & support section. So I am really looking for an answer from a riot employee. I was also hesitant to make this thread but I was encouraged to do so by my friends who are more upset about this than I am.

nope. its perfectly fine.

I would also like to say, that if it my play that is the problem, then I would be pleased if this was the case so I don't have to make another account. But I sincerely do not think this is the case.
