This Urgot buff is the biggest heap of bullshit I've ever seen

There is no goddamn counterplay to this crap. Just max W and boom, you're fucked if you aren't ranged. Good job, Riot.

are you kidding? if anything there's more counterplay since now his shield is tied to his E, an ability with a longer cooldown that forces him to use his only engage/disengage tool to proc it, any reasonable person could just juke his E and then wail on him

His winrate jumped MASSIVELY in all levels of play.

to be fair that often happens with new champions, people aren't too familiar with the champion's counterplay yet

And when you don't juke the E, you're stuck in a permanent W. And if you're a melee champ,, you can't do shit.

I heard that statistically, Urgot uses his E less than his R on average. Probably because using E is a pretty big commitment and thus reserved in early game, and then it becomes meh in mid-late game and so also less used there too.

if true, having the shield being tied to his E is a pretty hefty nerf really.

What about the R increased damage and range? There is literally less counterplay now on that. That's what most are complaining about I think, or I'd hope. Urgot literally cannot miss R now, and it's a guaranteed kill. Before, there was a slight hope that you could outplay it.

there's a 25% longer window before the ult fires, the ult now scales less, and the bonus range was added because they were moving numbers, not buffing/nerfing.

No there is no real counterplay to his Ult and machine gun arm. The ult zips by so quickly it's nigh undodgeable with how far he can shoot it as well if you don't flash it, dash, blink, etc out of the way you're going to get hit even with a longer wind up which went from .4 - .5 second. Ye what a difference that'll make! Ult damage also actually went UP, not down. So his ult scales MORE actually. The shield has become more of a problem with the move to his E, making more reliable to block damage, and they buffed amount ratios exponentially. They even gave it another ratio (15% of his health as well) on top of a 1.5 ad ratio now rather than the previous .5. The only real nerf to it is mana cost, no longer just being 50 but now 50/60/70/80/90 and the c/d being a permanent 14 secs. Which is going to be brought down to 8 seconds anyway with the items he builds giving him the 40% cdr.

His purge buff is by far the best thing that happened though, to him, the fact it doesn't cost mana to keep active is great for him. The mana cost for it is even lower now than previously with a non-existant c/d, becoming a toggle at rank 5 for 0 mana. His shotgun knee's also not doing reduced damage after repeated hits makes trading with him as a melee a nightmare, it was a means of keeping his early level trading/all-ins a little in check and not overpowering, removing the damage reduction simply means he can bully anyone in the lane he really wants. The worse part? him doesn't stop it. It just keeps working and that by far is the best OP thing urgot would want, a non-interruptable W.

This buff to him was by far the most idiotic thing to do with Urgot. he was actually relatively okay, he was good just not LCS 100% pick rate anymore, which I guess wasn't what riot wanted and so grossly over buffed him into a no weak phase thing.

okay but i think what he is talking about is 1 his passive buff so any melee champs take that to the face and 2 his w which at max ranks costs no mana and is a toggle which also applies on hit effects such as botrk/wits end red buff any of those fun things you know? i mean chogath used to have a toggle skill that costed no mana and then they were like nahhhhh and gave him a 3 auto e instead with a mana cost. litteraly al lthey had to do to urgot was lower his early mana costs and or decrease teh scaling of his shield moving it is fine. but now they just like well mana is his problem soooo he wont need mana anymore for a skill liek the fuck

THE SHIELD IS NOT THE ISSUE.

His W doesn't do shit without his passive...
