How do Revitalize and Second Wind Interact?

So, recently they moved second wind to tier 2 from 3 meaning it can be taken at the same time as revitalize. What I'm a bit unclear on is does the revitalize buff the second wind healing or is it considered health regen and therefore ignored by revitalize?

Hmm... great question. I guess you could test it in practice tool...

Have you tried running summoner 1 ?

I think Revitalize is shown in your HP bar to increase your HP/5 value shown there. If so, your claim of it being treated as base regen seems right.

This is when wording becomes crucial for differentiating effects. Even though Second Wind states, "you heal for X over X," it feels as though it's actually regen.

Up. Interested.

If second wind doesn't count as the Health Regen stat...it should work. Sounds sweet!

it does. You can see your health regen shift. Besides, my favorite top start is double rejuv bead and refill pot with second wind, backing for a dorans shield on recall. You will never run out of health.

If I was fighting you in lane, that would be mildly annoying. I love it!

Second Wind and Overgrowth is actually the better choice, since Second Wind doesn't synergize with Revitalize. Having more health means you have potentially more missing health, which results in more regeneration. You regenerate more health, but not in terms of percentage.

Hum, so does anyone in this thread actually tried and tested and compared the value given by Second Wind with/without Revitalize?

I did some testing. Second Wind does not work with it but from my testing so far every single other heal/shield besides second wind and biscuits/time warp tonic is boosted by revitalize.

Thanks.

What do you mean with Time Warp Tonic? It effects duration, whereas Second Wind increases values, so I don't think there should be any interaction between Tonic and Second Wind anyway. Did I miss something?

For Biscuits, it's a bit surprising that Biscuits don't work but simple normal Potions do. Strange...

I was just testing tonic because it is in some way related to healing, I didn't expect it to yield any results. But, next time I get on I think I'll do more tests regarding all the various items and consumables in the game. That way I can confirm biscuits, my testing could have been flawed in some way.

Thanks again, your extensive testing is much appreciated.

I have some work to do on the Wikia that I keep postponing because my day job is taking too much time, but if I finally find a moment, I'll make sure to also mention your results ;)

Second Wind is indeed health regeneration, and not a healing over time effect. I tried it in Practice Tool, and pretty sure I didn't get any healing benefit on Revitalize when an enemy champion activated my Second Wind. I think Riot should be really careful how they word different effects. I think it'd be fair to change Second Wind's tooltip into regeneration, instead of healing.

One of my favorite picks for toplane is pyke he is very fun, my runes go aftershock bone plating second wind revitalize for my resolve tree first and then I take dorans shield, with passive I can infinitely trade and never loose lane because it's impossible to be poked down and you always win trades, as long as you don't cs like an ape and back off when a trade gets too long you're pretty much guranteed a win (I have dumpstered both darius' and rumbles alike with this build, I've never fought one but I always ban garen, I'm quite scared of what happens, and urgot's not a very fun lane but if you play it well it will work out alright in the end). I recommend trying it it's very fun! (in case you're wondering the second tree I take domination with sudden impact and ultimate hunter)Pyke
