Champion mastery broken AF for Anivia.

It's impossible to get an S as anivia without playing a boring game where you farm the entire match. I have to choose between having a fun match where I help my team, or having a snorefest where you farm for 30 minutes and wait for your teammates to win or lose the match for you.

I don't know why it is so much harder to can an S on anivia than on other champions, but it could be something similar to the shenanigans involving supports. It feels terrible playing really well just to get an A+ or S-.

Also please don't punish for username ;)

You have 114 CS at 25 minutes man

I don't think you can do that on any champion and get an S/S+

^ That's barely a 5 per minute average. You weren't even getting half of the farm available to you.

his lane opponent had only 51 cs. Yea 114 is low, but he made his opponent get less cs than a support with item 3302

Zane Zephyr3 votes

Not the point though

It's not graded off of your opponents performance

You can bully your opponent while still getting high CS you know.

Gimpy891 votes

so? its a low elo game and mastery isn't about being high/low elo. he objectively did extremely well for this elo and his CS was par for this elo.

Also you don't know what he was doing. He could have spent 1/2 the game walking around the map killing everything. You are assuming he was in lane the entire game farming which is probably false. Is roaming now bad because you spend cs to do it?

Junkο2 votes

That logic makes no sense. Are you saying a Bronze Yasuo who went 5/10/3 mastered the champion because he barely beat the average performance in Bronze?

Gimpy891 votes

you are plat 2 and have a 5.3 cs/min veigar game as your most recent ranked mid game and are making fun of a 4.6cs/min silver player.

And of course mastery is not about mastering the champion its about performing better with that champ than your current elo. The very fact that ANY bronze 5 player can get mastery makes this obvious. You can't master a champ and still be b5, but if you perform well for b5 you get a good grade and mastery. The op performed well for his elo and should get a good grade.

Also how the fuck can you beat the average performance going 5/10/3? The bronze yasuo would be against OTHER BRONZE PLAYERS and would have to have a good score to beat the average bronze performance.

You mean in the game where we had a 4/12 Renekton who fed the enemy Irelia who was 17/7, on top of that I was laning against Annie who hard counters Veigar. Please explain to me how I could have farmed safely in that scenario. Enlighten me oh great and mighty Gimpy89.

But hey nice butthurt that you had to look up my account on which I barely play anymore, and then picked the worst game possible to criticize. Too bad that butthurt won't help you win games or get you S ranks.

Gimpy891 votes

oh so now circumstances matter and there is more than just the cs/min thanks for proving my point.

edit: Sadly i don't think you understood my point that cs/min doesn't necessarily determine skill and depends on what happens in game. I thought that you literally defending that the cs/min in that game didn't determine your skill would do it, but i think it went past you and you just saw it as an attack.

And yea s ranks are totally the limiting factor for me and not champion essence https://gyazo.com/fee160f43e874ca2719f742235849ded https://gyazo.com/051bc423aafebc21a9f04a953a6671ea

114 CS at 25 minutes is flat out bad, period.

Gimpy891 votes

you recently won a ranked mid game going 99 @ 20:23 and had a good kda 8/3/2. But i guess we should ignore the circumstances and your roaming and assume you were "flat out bad" too.

Do you remember that game? It was your most recent ranked win.

Junkο3 votes

Man you are so butthurt lmao.

Gimpy891 votes

it's called making a point. He obviously did well that game and had the same cs of the person he is trash talking.

Junkο1 votes

God forbid you had a bad game right?

Gimpy891 votes

can you even read? i said he did well that game LOL.

EndlessSorcerer1 votes

Just because they did well and won the game doesn't mean that their CS wasn't bad in that game. I'm pretty sure that they would happily acknowledge that.

Even if you are roaming a good amount, there are ways to farm efficiently if you know when to time the roams and how to control the wave.

Gimpy891 votes

according to http://www.leagueofgraphs.com the average cs over anivia games is 170.2 and the average length of a silver game is 36 min. that's 4.7 cs/min average.

WHAT? Par for this elo? xD I climbed from bronze 4 to where im at now (about to be silver 3) and 114 farm at 25 min is literally terrible. I've seen worse farming but that is definitely not par. Bronze 4 people farm significantly better than that on average. I would say b4 players would have at least 160-180 especially on mass wave clear anivia

lets remember this guy had 4.6cs/min.

now we chronologically go down your history from op.gg top gp 5.5cs/min adc ez 4.6cs/min (wow it is the same) fiora 6.5cs/min 5.4 lucian

its not that much higher. If you factor in the cost of roaming a lot it's pretty similar. also cs/min is higher in longer games

Im not trying for S in any of these, just playing casually with friends.

Gimpy891 votes

not saying you are good/bad. Just saying for the circumstances (silver in a short game with lots of roaming/fighting) the op's cs might not be as bad as people think or the raw number suggests.

My farming is bad, I am admitting that. But if you want an S you have to perform well above average for that champion. Ezreal wave clear is dismal and anivia can end an entire wave in seconds. So it is my assumption that the average Anivia would at least have higher average cs than my shitty ezreal by 25 min

Also to be fair I'm already not the best at farming but in games where I try i would guess it's somewhere between 6-8 cs/min. Not going to op.gg myself to see, but i think thats a pretty good ballpark

That's what I'm complaining about.

If you spend the match putting your entire team ahead, and the entire enemy team behind, with an end k/d of 27/1, you shouldn't be given a lower grade because of something that's ultimately unimportant when it comes to winning the match. Sure, I could spend the entire game mid. I could farm the entire match. That's not something I enjoy, though. When you have to play a specific way to get a good grade, instead of executing your playstyle well, it makes getting mastery tokens not fun if your playstyle doesn't match up with how Riot wants you to play.

Zane Zephyr1 votes

Uh, good cs can most certainly be a huge factor in winning lane/match

It has nothing to do with "farming mid the entire match" or "playing a specific style" because riot is actively against people playing specifically for grades

It's well known that CSing is a decent factor of grading and if yours is below average then you can't expect to get an above average game, it's as simple as that.
