"we also want his signature ability to be more impactful..."

"...upping the impact of Rite of the Arcane, we’re giving Xerath more chances to succeed with his ultimate".

By making it harder to land and making its shots deal less damage if you don't land a higher number of shots. But don't worry! We gave you one pixel more radius on the explosion.

Surely I played only one match after the update but being a consistant Xerath player and him being one of my mains I can tell you that this update made him the least desirable Mage to have in a team.

  • Poke/siege teams work better with Varus or Jhin and now even Malzahar has more siege potential.
  • Anything with sustain will invalidate Xerath damage.
  • Arcanopulse "fixing" didn't hurt much but his ultimate now feels as a glorified wet noodle which is also harder to land compared to before(Seriously it's like Xerath got cramps because he was always benched).

His ultimate should give him the ability to freely choose his target, that's why the high range, the rather short delay and the small explosion radius. Now landing anything less than 4 shots gives you less damage than before.

DFT is even more useless since the small reductions on AP items and TLD still doens't make sense with his constant sieging and inability to chose on which target to proc it unless you land that awful ultimate.

Easy to downvote Hard to provide actual feedback

majority of people downvoting are those sour with being poked and not being able to hit back. Essentially the changes they've changed to xerath are not beneficial in any way. I'm around plat 2 as of right now and let me just note that it is way harder to land any portion of his ult than it was before. Honestly riot needs to adress this, but seems content on making him one, if not the hardest champion to land skill shots with.

My concern is not even that he is hard but that the reward for landing said skillshot is null compared to other skillshot based champions (Velkoz).

Also Xerath suffers from having to meet 2 situations to land his skillshots and being succesful:

  • Q - cast time + delay
  • W - delay + bullseye
  • E- first target hit + distance
  • R - minimal area + delay + massive warning from the fat red line popping out when he anchors himself

His Damage doesn't reflect his skill frankly

To be fair, I'm having a lot of fun attacking Jhin s while they ult. Their Ult points right to them, rather than players trying to guess the center of the circle.
