Ask them in chat politely. Sometimes you just have to suck it up and play something else too. If you are a new player I highly recommend playing a wide variety of champs and roles to learn the game. After that you can look into specialization if that is your thing. If can often be more important to know the enemy champion's limits than your own.
I actually DON'T recommend new players to play a wide variety of roles or champions. Then they spend too much time learning roles and different champions making them "OK" at maybe everything, but not really excelling in anything.
So for example: Say they spend 2 weeks learning mid lane and learning 4 different champions such as
. They are not only learning the mechanics of 4 different champions they are also learning the mid lane dynamics across different champions. It is a lot to take in. Then after that they do the same thing for top lane learning top lane dynamics and mechanics across 4 champions.
If a new player simply spent the four weeks just focusing on midlane and learned two champions (
and
), once they master the mechanics and lane dynamics they will not only understand the limits of their champions, but also how those champions operate within the lane. This allows the player to get better and experiement with other game concepts such as wave management, roaming, ganking, securing towers. While the other player is taking in and trying to understand an entirely new champion pool and a new lane dynamic.
If you plan to climb, it is best to play 2 roles almost exclusively and have 1 off-role in your pocket just in case. Your champion pool should probably be 2 or 3 in the roles you want to play and you should almost never touch 2 of the 5 roles.
Now if you plan to have fun and don't care about improvement, then you can play wherever and whatever champion you like, but I think this is a common mistake new players make. They feel the need to be proficient in most of the roles and have a champion pool of 4 per role so that they can counter-pick a matchup.
In low Elo, counter-picks don't matter. Most matchups are completely skill based and this is applicable ALL the way up to high platinum.
