will i lose my rank if i start playing ranked now

So its preaseason right. And i got gold and got my border and rewards. My questions are...

1.) If i play ranked now i will continue playing from Gold?

2.) if i fall into silver. Will i lose my border?

  1. Yes, you'll continue playing from your current rank, meaning you can rank up / demote from where you are now, you just won't get any extra rewards.

  2. No, any difference to your rank made now will only affect your starting mmr for next season. Even if you fall into bronze you'll keep your border as the ranked season is over.
