Tahm Kench, also known as the champion I hate the most

Why is kench still stupid good? You think riot would have gotten off their butts and actually done something about him by now, but NOPE! We gotta keep Kench "Fair and balanced". Yeah, a champion that can shield most of his healthbar after getting bursted, has a slow that is ridiculously good, a stun that is THE SAME ABILITY WHICH IS ALSO STUPIDLY EASY TO HIT, ridiculous %max hp dmg, mobility on his ult and utility in being able to slurp up an ally? Why is this champion still the way he his? The fact that he is stupidly dominant BOTH AS A SUPPORT AND TOP LANER is not ok. Keep in mind here, Tahm is basically the perfect champion. Let's go through the categories.

  1. Damage: Yup, got plenty of that, with his autos, Q, and W.
  2. Durability: Shielding his entire healthbar.
  3. Utility: The aforementioned slurp.
  4. CC: Oh yeah, Slow, Stun, suppress.
  5. Mobility: His ult, which can take him AND someone else.

One of the things i find most infuriating is how Tahm can just sit in lane farming while you do 70% of his healthbar, and then he just presses E and turns around to kill you. Guess what? You don't get to get away. He lands the slow (which I might add has a rather ridiculous hitbox), and just autos you until he can W, he slurps you, brings you ALMOST TO HIS TURRET, and by this point his Q is back up, so even if you try to run now, he just stuns you and autos you to death. ON TOP OF THIS, his mana costs are stupidly low. If he misses a bunch of Qs in lane, it doesn't matter. Sometimes it feels like his mana regen is higher than his actual mana costs.

I propose a few simple changes to make him actually able to fight against:

1: Make it so that your W or Q remove all stacks on the target when empowered. This will make it easier to deal with his insane cc.

2: Greatly increase early Q cd and mana cost. This should make missing Q actually punish him, rather than being a minor inconvenience.

3: Nerf the shield amount or duration on his E. Hey, maybe being able to shield all of your healthbar for a decent duration is unbalanced!!! Who would've thought!!!!!

4: Change his W from %max hp to an actual base dmg + AP scaling. Now I know tanks need %max hp dmg to do dmg. But here's the thing: Tanks shouldn't do damage. Shocking concept, I know, but it's in the name. They're supposed to tank damage, not tank dmg while killing priority targets or laners without a care in the world.

Those are the changes to his actual kit. I think in addition to this, he really needs to have something done to him to force him out of solo lane and only into support. I really don't think he should be as strong of a solo laner as he is, and the best solution to this is to just remove him from the solo lane entirely.

In conclusion, screw Tahm kench, and screw his playerbase for playing him.

"Tanks aren't supposed to deal damage, they're supposed to tank damage...but also nerf literally the living hell out of every way Tahm tanks or prevents damage, and also nerf his cc so he has to tank more consistent damage"

Make sense. >.>

Personally, I feel he's pretty weak. He has an ult, but he doesn't have any real gapclosing ability - if he misses his Q, he literally will not catch you, and you have like a solid 8s to harass the hell out of him. More harass = less gray health for shield (and add to that the part where PYKE heals almost 4x MORE from gray health than the PROPRIETOR of gray health, and honestly Kench's tank game is actually below average) If he uses his W to save an ally, it goes on an ultimate length cooldown and if he uses it to spit minions at you instead of eating you it cuts his damage by more than half. If he manages to land his full combo and eat you, then unless he's Phase Rush Abductor Kench (a build I haven't seen used by anyone other than myself since the end of season 7) he can't move anywhere, and your team should be murdering him. If he runs Phase Rush, he's not even tanky, so you should be able to pop him like a zit when he tries to eat you.

All of those shortcomings together make him pretty much only viable as support. if you're not beating him as a solo laner, they're either a really good Kench...or you're pretty much allowing him to eat you in lane.
