Low priority queue from lagging out

So yesterday, I'd been playing League for an hour or so and when I went to join my 2nd match of the day, it wouldn't load. The game ended up disconnecting me because it was taking so long. 3 attempts to reconnect later, I finally manage to get into the game, but I was still lagging terribly. I stayed in the match attempting to play for a good 5 minutes, though my ping was well over 2000 for most of it. After not being able to do anything for all that time, I finally decided to give up and move on. I closed league for the day, thinking that the same thing would happen if i attempted to join another match, and went to play the yugimans on duelingnexus. I attempted joining a match today to find that I've been placed in the low priority queue for leaving. What was I supposed to do? I tried staying for a good 5 minutes despite not being able to do anything. Am I supposed to stick around for a half an hour clicking randomly and hoping something happens? :|
