Smurf brings $$$ for dollar games so they don't care.

And how would you prevent it?

Do you have a way to detect smurfs without ever having a false positive for a player just having some good games?

There are times when they say " I am Diamond" , I think that helps. They like to do that a lot cause they think they are good making low elo games bad.

But there is a difference between good games and 90 %- 80 % - 70 % - 60 % win rate, using the same champion over and over.

you mean a one trick?

So if you have a high winrate, you should be banned? You think that's actually a viable solution that couldn't have false positives?

Forgot the small amount of games, the new account created stuff like that. WOW YOU JUST STARTED AND CAN HAVE 80 % WINRATE IMPRESSIVE A NEW FAKER IS COMING.

What if a high rank dota player wants to try out league? Basic mechanics transfer, so it's likely they would have high winrates. What if league does just come easily to you and you do have an 80% winrate after grinding an account to 30? The 100ish games or whatever it is can be an adequate amount of time for some players to get a solid grasp on the game.

There's no possible way to ban by winrate without a lot of false positives.

Do I really think the basic mechanics from a game that league ripped off will transfer over to league? Yeah, I do. Enough so that a high elo dota player would be able to pick up league over the course of leveling from 1-30 and be able to have similar winrates to smurfs. Do you really think the equivalent of a master tier player in dota would struggle and have a 50% winrate in like silver/gold in league?

So you want to ban some1 because they're better than you?

They need to watch Dota carefully since Dota is actually trying to do something about this.

Smurfs (and the new accounts of people who got banned for being toxic) are the #1 reason why the game is currently inaccessible to new players.

Yeah, it's not all the mechanics that aren't new player friendly at all. It's the smurfs that are the #1 issue

Riot's ranked system and overall organization of it is what's ruining your experience, not smurfs.

End of season just isn't the time to climb.

A lot of people make it to Diamond and stop playing and head over to their side accounts and decide to boost their buddy or test out how far they can make it in the system on a fresh account.

In the best case scenario smurfs will play normally and likely outperform their lane opponent. In the worst case scenario they throw or try to penalize someone for not doing exactly as they say.

I've had about a dozen games this season where a smurf admits to being a smurf, and says someone doesn't deserve a win, and punish the whole team by AFK farming.

You can't make being a nitwit illegal, and I don't know how you'd make that bannable when they don't care about their throw away account they're using to try to abuse the ranked system because they're bored.

Plus what everyone says is true, Riot likely prefers smurfs because they bring in dollars and even views. So many people do those corny unranked to challenger or grandmaster videos and a lot of people watch them unfortunately.
