Masteries

I am actually a bit lost because of the new mastery changes. I really need help setting them up because the game is affected significantly. For example, I kinda assigned masteries for top lane fighter/tank and they 'work' but it's a struggle. Meanwhile the support masteries are complete garbage, the ones I have assigned. I really need help. Thank you for your time.

you have to experiment alot. i played 15 customs with Hecarim alone and lost 8 ranked games in a row in the past 10 days. tbh tho the masteries are not optimized for anyone except adcs.

Resolve says otherwise.

much less gold efficient but OK.

Taking into account the new ambient gold?

yes. ambient gold has nothing to do with gold efficiency since everyone gets it.

How much have you experimented?

I have 16 pages of masteries and after a week of experimenting, 7 of them turned out good but it's not enough. For example, for blitzcrank, i cant get the same results i got before. I cant supp well with him anymore because i dont know which ones go best for him

I tried all three resolve keystones with Sion, each working to good effect. Honestly you just got to keep trying until you find something you like.

I think for blitz i would either go 0/18/12 with thunderlord's decree for that extra burst of damage when you land a hook, or 0/12/18 with bond of stone.

At the other tiers: Wanderer Secret Stash Meditation Bandit Intelligence (if 0/18/12)

Unyielding Explorer Runic Armor Insight Swiftness (if 0/12/18)

If you really have no idea what you're doing look at the masteries of a youtuber or pro player. Copy those (keep in mind what the amsteries do) and use them so you can get a feel for what you like without going in completely blind.

I have watched videos but they only gave a tutorial, which obviously helped but there are still alot of things which are not summing up well.

Decide which keystone mastery you want and then work backwards.

Generally, you go into trees for the following reasons:

  • Ferocity: Sustain and Sustained Damage
  • Cunning: Burst Damage and Utility
  • Resolve: Durability and Healing

After that, just pick whichever masteries suit your champions the best.

Though, every support should take at least 12 point in Cunning for Bandit.
