IDK if i should post this. It's useless information. don't read it if you love LoL and hate DotA, and/or really really care about which one is better. I honestly don't care, and think that they are both great games. I had absolutely zero respect for LoL at first, but I've come to appreciate it more and more over the years.
~~makes me wonder what you noobs would think about the items in dota. There are no "ap items" lol. There's definitely attack damage, but AP? nah. intelligent heroes with lots of nice spells are overpowered to begin with in the right hands. I specifically remember the first item they added that introduced "spell power" was octarine core. It's been a long time, but I'm pretty sure it was well after it had already officially come out of "beta"...though I think it might have been around the same time they updated their client with "dota 2 reborn" or whatever. Sometimes the shift from beta to alpha can be kind of fuzzy in my mind. I definitely remember HoN's beta phase ending because it asked 10$ from everyone who played it. I mean, it was a shitload of people, cuz the MAJORITY of moba players played it over LoL. It always confused me as to why people played LoL instead of HoN.. I mean, I get it now, it makes sense if you never played a moba before...or never got good at dota lol idk.. actually yeah I can imagine a good percentage of dota players I'd dominate in every game preferring LoL because of reasons(cough mechanical skill). ~~
When LoL came out of beta, did it put a lock on all the champs or what? I mean, I guess it would right? When I FIRST played it, I think there were like.. 20 champions to choose from total...so it would be ridiculous to put any of them under a pay wall. I didn't really put much time into it, I mean I might have 1 game of beta under my belt, if that. tbh it seems like all I did was watch my best friend play it once, and we both came to the same conclusion. The original game was better...at least until we found keys to the beta for HoN, which was like, the literal savior of the genre(made by the same creator as DotA 2--nothing against Steve Guinsoo Feak).
That's another thing that REALLY kind of pisses me off about LoL. Why the fudge do all the champs have to come under a goddamned pay wall? Don't your skins make you MORE than enough money? Jesus effing christ, you're making like 20 different games now, guess we might as well pay for em. I mean I get it, it makes Riot a shitload of money...especially when you take into account the code of conduct or whatever it was called. Tribunal was it? More like tri-ban-all ur champs for $$. Real shame lol. I mean, I guess it's an obvious money grab/pay to win strat, the original dota game was literally the most toxic game in-the-world. Yes, hundreds of times worse than LoL. You think LoL is bad? Imagine your worst game of LoL, and then multiply it to every single game ever, where multiple people leave literally every single game. Shit I remember playing a game as axe, and just running at a Nyx and pudge duo right clicking them. Couldn't have been more than the second wave I got a double kill on them, and then they both immediately left. Just the way it was. I mean, not everyone would leave immediately after killing them once, but it would definitely happen, and it was especially more likely if it happened more than once. You better believe there was shit talk in every-single-game.
