A condensed step-by-step Godyr guide for those willing to follow my path

Note: I am not sure if this is the correct section. If not, excuse me

Before I begin, I am a Diamond player and I have started seriously maining Udyr this season. Currently with 150 ranked games with the Dyr this season, sitting steadily at 67-70% win rate in my division and 100% win rate in silver and low gold on smurf accounts with ridiculous KDA, so I felt like sharing my secret with you.

Before this patch, I used to follow the trivial path of maxing out Phoenix Stance and utilizing it as the main source of damage. However, after its harsh nerf, I've discovered that Tiger stance is currently far more viable and arguably still unbalanced and am performing even better than pre-nerf - a thing that seems to have slipped the minds of many high-elo Udyr mains. So please, I beckon you to try this building path and tell me what you think.

  1. The Beginning: Begin the game with a Hunter's Machete and 3 Pots. Take Tiger stance, and start frog (regardless of which team you are - you're going to need that blue). If possible, ask your team for a decent pull so that you clear it faster. At level 2 take Turtle stance and clear blue and wolves. Do your best to retain three stacks of your passive throughout the clear, and lose them only between the camps.

  2. The First Clear:

Get another point in Tiger Stance after Wolves and continue your clear. Make it as swift and thorough as possible. You are usually going to need to clear the whole jungle before you gank, although situationally you can make exceptions. After Golems, you are going to have level 4 (when you are finally gonna get the broken Bear stance), a relatively fresh Red buff and still some time left of the Blue buff to make do with. This is your moment to grab a kill or two. Check your bot and mid lane (or top and mid lane if you are in the bottom side team) and fish for opportunities to sneak a kill. If none present themselves, get the rift scutter or the enemy frog.

3: The First Recall

You are going to recall with either 950 gold to get a Stalker's Blade and one Dagger, or 1200 gold if you get a kill for a second Dagger. Afterwards, move towards Raptors, Wolves and Frog. At that point you'll have to wait a minute or two for your Blue to respawn, so you can fish for more ganks if opportunities are present. If not, get the scuttler, freeze a recalling teammate's lane or overall do your best to attain the 850 (or 1150) gold to finish your devourer after you take the Blue buff.

4: Flowing into the mid-game

After recalling and getting devourer, you are going to have a fresh blue and can easily solo Dragon for a kick-start on the stacks. This usually requires decent map awareness and warding in higher elos, but is relatively easy in medium and low elo, especially in solo queue. Ask your bot lane to push, put a ward or two in the river and get to it. Quickly rotate between tiger and turtle stance and you should have it down in no time. Afterwards, check the map for opportunities to gank. If none are present, utilize your blue and clear your Jungle.

  1. Mid to late.

The rest is too relative to put in bullet-points. Stack your devourer as quickly as possible and continue building situationally (more on that below). Join teamfights, sneak objectives and abuse that insanely broken movespeed your Bear stance gives you. If all has gone well, you are going to be an unstoppable, tanky, very painful stun-machine/kiter/assassin/split-pusher/anything you wanna be (because fuck it, you're Udyr) and the game should be too easy to seize.

The Build:

You are going to need Boots of Swiftness immediately after Devourer. If your early game is going well, rush Tiamat afterwards and henceforth Titanic Hydra. It will strongly strengthen your split-pushing capabilities (which are already powerful with Udyr's broken speed), plus, its passive synergizes well with Sated Devourer and will give you a smooth transition into the mid-game. Afterwards, you will need something tanky so you don't get too squishy. Dead Man's Plate is usually a perfect call, however, if the enemy team relies strongly on magic damage, a Maw of Malmortius or a Spirit Visage are both decent choices yielding stats that all stack well on Udyr. Continue with a Black Cleaver so you don't fall behind on damage, and finish off with either a strong Armor item, strong MR item, or a hybrid such as ZZRot or GA.

*Note: if your early game has gone badly and you've built Warrior, the only damage item you're going to need in the early to mid game is a Black Cleaver. However, tankiness should be a priority, as at that point you're going to become a more supportive, nautilus type of tank that brings utility to the team.

The Abilities: Max out tiger stance whenever given the chance. Take turtle stance at level 2, then max bear stance. Finish off with turtle stance and the three points in phoenix (that you will likely never even cast either way).

I hope this has helped any aspiring Udyr players. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Good luck!

Ha you think this will help? I'll still find ways to kill you goddamn udyrs except as you evolve each time I kill one of you it will be far more glorious than the last i'll make you watch as your fellow udyr players rage on their streams with few viewers i'll force you to build tank instead of that stupid ass ap build that gives that big ass shield for no reason. The only reason I allow a udyr to even be selected is so I have some fast prey that makes the hunt far more satisfying! Me and my noxian brethren will slaughter you udyrs and wipe you off the face of runterra.
