Suggestion : RIOT should introduce a feature using which player can select which ELO they belong to.
I have been playing League of Legends around 1 to 1.5 months as my first ever MMO game. When I reached level 30 I was excited to play ranked. When I played my first ranked game I was paired with players from silver and I wasn't up to the mark to play alongside them so got bashed multiple times. Even before the start of the game when they realized this was my first ranked game they were adding remarks like "we already lost", "He doesn't know how to play", etc. in chat and the entire experience was horrible and I was low on confidence throughout the game which obviously didn't help. This same thing happened in the next 2 games after which I am just playing blind pick. I don't blame those players who invested years in learning game and now they have to play with a noob like me and intern affect their rank. This is definitely disadvantageous to them to play 4v5 where I am not able to keep up. Or even worse if I kept feeding enemies. At the same time, it isn't helping me to understand where I am making mistakes as I am being bashed at every second thing which they think I should already know. As this is my first MMO, I accept I might be below average player. I heard that you have to play around 10 games to correctly rank. But for newbies like me, 10 game with insults and disappointments is too long where I don't see myself getting anywhere. There is no fun, the fun for which I played the game for the last 30 levels. I don't like to be a burden on the team. So, I feel like at the start of session RIOT should introduce a scheme where players can choose where they think they belong like Bronze, Silver or Gold and then give them rank on based on their performance in the first 10 games. This way players like me can start with Bronze players and then work on game steadily to climb a ladder and not affect someone else rank who shouldn't be playing along or against me.
This is just a suggestion that I see effectively implemented in other games like chess from chess.com we get to chose our level and then on bases on win/loss in a game it correctly gives us a proper rating. Thank you for reading. If I missed something or had an inaccurate opinion as I see this situation from my end then please correct me. I will be happy to read about it.
