I think varus could use this nerf if he needs any at all.

While im not really sure that his kit needs a nerf at all, id say to at the very least shift some extraneous power out of his kit which could be put somewhere else is to make his q slowly shrink down its range and damage after he puts it at max range, seems to me that varus has a massive amount of uptime on his zoning without much punishability, the way it works allows him at high cdr to basically hold a q all the way to the end and then prep another one .5 seconds later. I feel that if he needs a nerf it would just be to that so he cant zone forever and have 100% arrow uptime in his kit with some cdr, then they could shift some power elsewhere in his kit and maybe take the load of his power budget off his q a little since a lot of it is there for him and they could play up his other abilities just a little more.

Varus was not even broken at all, it's because of Riot trash balancing that made him and jinh broken because of their poke from a long range. Jinh last shot for his case* but seriously he was balance, it's just a horrible balance team Riot has in place that keeps on messing with the game over and over non stop. Heck the balance team are starting to listen to the to high damage feed back after 6 months and are starting to lower practically every mastries.

Every single lethality item has so much passive or a special feature with a item that gives high damage.

They were already s tier before lethality change

Varus was never a S tier, he was only a S tier when Riot release lethality and with the buff to lethality it gave them a higher damage, Jinh is played highly yes and does high damage but he can't auto attack like other ADC so he has a trade off for it.

But wasn't it only Ashe, Jhin and Varus in pro play before the lethality buffs

ForgiveColour1 votes

Are you kidding me? Varus was literally already taking over with the crit build before lethality change

Jhin can be countered by any assassin he's only OP if your team leaves him alive.

Every adc is countered by assassins, so that's no argument.

Or just nerf lethality a bit (so Varus mid is viable) and make crit ADCs not so worthless.

you would think the ability for an ADC to deal 250% damage on auto attacks nearly everytime would be strong, but apparently in League it is worthless

CasterGilgamesh2 votes

well the fact is the only crit items that give damage are two if you want 100% crit chance all you have is attack speed and some ad from two items which means unless your whole kit is an attack steroid Draven Caitlyn it doesn't really work as well as Lethality

Varus is fine. Jhin is fine. Lethality is not fine. The end.

He is right, Varus has never really got a buff or a change for 2 years if you ask me unless the attack speed boost but that isn't the reason why people think he is too strong, it's his Q and that has never been changed except for the nerf I remember long time ago. The reason people use his now is because of his Q with the lethality that gives poke power. Why do you think he shows up out of no where after 2 years of rarely getting played by the pros other then mid? Lethality gives him poke power on ADC/MID/TANK to cut them down from a range that is untouchable and lets not forget the item item 3814 giving him a shield to protect him even more.

"Jhin is fine"

CasterGilgamesh1 votes

he pretty much is since riot nerfed him and even nerfed him again so at this point its more or less just his ability to get picks that pros pick him for AKA his ult

I dont think thats the worst idea, at the very least it makes his more oppressive parts of his kit when ahead toned down to give his opponents more flexibility and adds some level decision making for the varus, id be down for that.

So basically what you are saying is that even if a champion doesn't necessarily needs nerfs you just lay in your bed thinking : "I wonder what champ needs nerfs this patch?"

Stars Shaper3 votes

without much punishability

Being slower than a rooted Mordekaiser doesn't seem punishing enough? Also if he wants to shoot it at max range the player is not watching Varus which means any flanker can instakill him.

The problem with Varus are ppl that want to charge forward to him or "hide" in a spot hoping that his arrow won't hit them.

Mega Annie X2 votes

you can nerf his casting the second you give him an on demand steroid like every other ADC in the game.

Ackelope1 votes

or maybe it's possible for his casting to be overtuned and still outweigh the benefit of having an activate-able steroid?

Fondling Gems1 votes

Alternatively make his Q CD start after he casts Q. Perhaps make the CD a bit lower overall to compensate.

Hayaishi21 votes

Varus has never been this good before, it's clearly not his kit.

Cosmic Warper1 votes

I'd rather just nerf his Q damage and shift it into his W. He should focus on his blight stacks, not on being a poke bot with safety.
