Lux Ultimate Question

In several games now, where I've been playing Lux I've encountered a bug (I think unless it's intentional) where her Ultimate (aimed directly at an enemy champion) has dealt no damage whatsoever when enemies use a targeted gap closer. Jax jump, Xin Zhao dash, Leblanc (even though this is an area dash.). I don't know what's going on. Maybe the ability has a hidden safe location right at Lux?

its bugged. had a yi using meditate on my team he took no damage

Not even with just gap closers and he visually got hit by a lux ult as trundle but took no damage
