Auto Filling

So... I dislike already that I have to select an alternate role but I get that... What I do not get is that even though I have selected a roll I want and a second roll I am willing to play why am I sometimes auto filled into something I just do not want to play? I get that it lowers queue times but if I want to wait an hour for a roll I have selected shouldn't I be given that choice? More often than not if someone is auto filled into something they did not pick as either role they are either A.) Toxic or B.) Completely useless. I am not saying to do away with it I am saying make auto fill an option, if you opt in to be auto filled then you can queue into matches where someone was auto filled thus shortening your queue times or you can opt out of it all together and only be queued in matches where noone was auto filled and maybe causing your queue to be longer. Thoughts?

Just dodge. Autofill an option seems like a bad idea. That's going back to the day where autofill isn't a thing with long waiting time. We don't want that. Many people going to pick the non autofill option often for sure which also discourage players to take the auto fill option because they're most likely going to fall into support due to a huge lacks of autofill which is problematic. Everyone should have equal chances of autofills and that makes it fair. Toxic players won't be lower with this idea. It aren't that simple because like I said, we used to have that sort of a system. Doesn't change anything with toxicity. Maybe does make people upset on the match making time which is a bigger problem.

Everyone should just take their turn.

No one (figuratively, not literally) wants to support. We all get filled there occasionally (/regularly). If you took those fill games seriously you'd become a better support and eventually if everyone did it, it wouldn't be a huge deal to get filled support.

The problem isn't autofill, the problem is the playerbase that's so self-centered they refuse to play 5% of their games in support so everyone can play more games. Hell, if everyone participated the amount you'd spend less in queue would be more than the total time you spend playing support! Surely actually playing support is better than not playing at all...

And this is coming from someone who does as I speak. Even if I only have time to play a single game, if I get filled support I play it - I don't dodge. And that's going a lot farther since I'm not saving game time for myself - if I only have time for 1 game then dodging and getting another role for that 1 game would look more optimal. Yet I still do it because I believe everyone should participate and help us all enjoy the game.

Unfortunately 90+% of the playerbase are just selfish.
