When are we getting another support champ?

I'm a support main and the last support oriented champion we got was July 2015 Tahm Kench, currently his play rate is lower then average.

For the record some might say Ivern is a support but he is played 80 percent in the jungle as of right now and his kit is oriented towards the jungle role, so in my opinion he isn't really a support champion

I was hoping that support would be next in line after jungle seeing as how we have waited for so long but Camille? Don't get me wrong I love her design but she couldn't have been pushed back or delayed for a support? With her current look many speculate her as a top or mid assassin but that doesn't make any sense to me, mid just recently got Taliyah this year, and top lane recieved Kled but where is a support for the bottom lane?

I was really looking forward to december after waiting so long bedause I was excited to see new people trying out the support role again, after all interest spikes in the least popular role every time a support champion is introduced.

Riot if you really want more support players in the community and support mains to stay interested please stop ignoring our role and give us something new to have fun with, I just feel really stumped after all the other lanes have recieved their new champs but support is being denied theirs.

Anyway this is just my opinion feel free to leave yours I just wanted to see what other players thought about Camille and no support champs for another 2 months

Riot is not ignoring support players, some people are just so entitled...

Do you realize that supports benefited more from the pre-season update than any other role? A handful of their items got price reductions, and they got Knight's Vow + Redemption. In addition to that, Meddler just posted a lengthy piece of his opinion on the current state and future of supports.

Riot is certainly not ignoring you. And personally I think it makes perfect sense for a new assassin to come out shortly after the assassin rework, particularly considering 2012 was the last time an assassin was released.

Try Aatrox. He's a strong support. Knock up+slow+life reg+ 2 steroids and a revive! Too strong man.

Idk. When are we getting another tank? Tahm Kench was the last tank and he wasn't designed to fully solo lane.

I'd like a new top lane tank soon.

TBH It makes sense - after the mage update we got Sol, and after the Assassin update Camille (if she IS an assassin - she certainly sounds like one). After they came out with their thoughts on Supports and the 4 weeks test to see if people WOULD play support, they probably won't make another support til they iron out those issues and then when they feel it's decent come out with a support that'll benefit from them.

You're mixing up support and jungle as comparable things. Jungle is a position/lane, support is not. That's why you have things like tank jungle, melee carry jungle, ap jungle, etc. So in this case yes, Ivern counts as a support. He's just a support who lanes in the jungle and roams places other than bot. Now, the support role does have subclasses. Tank support, poke support, heal support, etc. But support doesn't dictate that a champion has to be bot lane with an ADC. It just means they're more utility focused and/or are going to focus on supporting a teammate.
