Why is this game designed to keep you in low elo?

So this is my first year played ranked somewhat hard. I always focus on what I can do better and what I can do to help the team win. If we don't win I blame myself and try to find ways to what I could have done to win. However the last week or so has shown me that this game no matter how well you play is designed to keep you in low elo. I've climbed from B3 to S4. Going from a 41% win rate to 49% continuously. But i've noticed lately that something doesnt seem right, I went on a huge win streak about a week and a half ago where I had something like 17 wins and 4 loses, and you know what? My LP I gained went down significantly, for whatever reason(was gaining about 25 lp per win, and went down to 19 a win, 20 a loss) its now evened out around 20LP a wn and 19 a loss) but what was the reason for this? Also I've noticed that people who have horrid win rates(25-40%) are a higher division then me or the same....that doesnt make any sense...if there winning less games, shouldnt they be falling down divisions? It almost seems like Riot designed it so that bad players get to stay in divisions like Silver even if they don't belong there. I take my point into question with this person who I found in the same division as me.

Now, he has no prior season rank, he played only 14 games, and went 2-12, which means at best in his placements he would have went 2-8. For someone who had no prior history of a rank in any seasons, this doesn't make any sense to put this person at Silver 4. They average a KDA of .91 on there champs and has a win rate of 14% but yet was allowed to be placed in Silver 4, does that not seem completely messed up?

Why was it that I was placed in Silver last year, went 4-6 in my placements and was put into Bronze 3 and have to climb out of bronze, and yet this guy gets to go straight to Silver 4, yet he lost 86% of his games and fed most of the time? How is that fair and why is this designed this way??

You cannot reference or link specific people to make points in threads such as this; which in theory could lead to harassment by others for any number of reasons. Linking your own profile is fine, I was clarifying to elaborate that 'Because I used myself as an example too' is not a justification for linking someone else.

The rest of your question, as far as I can tell, is quite fair. ^_^ We're going through a transitional phase here on Gameplay as we, the Wardens, get used to the new system and as you, the users, get used to our style of moderation.

Please do not let that discourage you from posting as a 'corrective lock' is not a punishment.

You can link your own. The mod was talking about other peoples.

Most peoples first season will get them placed in high bronze or low silver because of where the default elo is set. You will almost always place lower than last year. your lp gain/loss being near equal means that you are at the elo the game thinks is appropriate.

Like i went from bronze 5 to silver 4 last year, placed in bronze 4 this year, climbed back to silver 4 in a week and haven't touched ranked since, if there is no good gold skin, no point in my climbing further. Next year i will probably be placed in bronze 3-4-5 again just to climb to silver 4 again.

because the 50th percentile lies in silver 3/4. +statistics.

Idk, whenever I play ranked I simply climb. Been demoted once in my life and it was my fault. You win some, you lose some, but in the end, if you're playing well, you'll climb.

Trying to explain this is going to be difficult as hell.

lets say the person won one then lost four then won another then lost the last four. The elo drop would ease up a bit after the win there fore giving them a higher rank, they will drop soon. the next season will put them around where they belong if they dont play anymore this season.

As for the soft reset, most people who get reset to bronze from gold were carried up the ladder. Their elo did not raise, but their rank did.

Forget placement. You can't always carry solo.

It seems you main jungle and aren't terrible at it. I also main jungle and am rather good at it with a 60%WR solo and always with positive KDA, objectives, etc.

I played ~5 duo games with a mid laner equally as good as I am and won all 5 EASY. Do yourself a favor and find a few people to duo with and you will climb FAST. Having that one laner you can trust to, at the very least, not feed is more than enough insurance. If you choose correctly they can even carry YOU.
