There are over 120 champions now and I was curious if I could get an answer from a red on this. There are definitely more than 3 champions I would like to ban a game and I think that the 3 ban per team system is getting a bit outdated since there are more and more champions every season. So, any thoughts from riot on 8 bans per game?
Adding more bans would be Riot admitting that their balance sucks, so they will never do it.
Probably. But it wouldn't say much for the balance of their game.
There has been discussion and iirc there was no strict 'no' or 'yes' to it. So it's definitely still up in the air.
This would be interesting, and add some more complexity to the game, and more decisions also.
They could if they wanted to, start it out on the PBE or even in a game mode to see how it worked, they could make it even go to 5 bans per team.
The issue is that Riot wants certain champions in the spotlight so there really aren't that many viable options in each role. It would certainly promote diversity which they SAY they want, but we all really know that isn't the case.
What about 5 bans, the box can literally fit 2 more champions, and the game requires 5 players to participate. IT MAKES SENSE!
